View Full Version : Power Switch/Hard Reset/AAAAHHHH!!!

Okay...wha had happen was...

My NX-80's power switch wasn't working.  Checked the forums and it seems to be an infrequent problem.  Took some of the advice and tried a hard reset by unplugging the battery.

Now...all I get is the "Palm Powered" screen, and the device won't load.  Just stays there with my battery running down (which might not be all that bad right now).

What can I do?  Should I just use my warranty and bring it back to Best Buy?  Do they even have new NXs anymore?  I really don't want another kind because I like this one a lot.  What can I do about this?  Is there anyway to get it back to life?  HELP!  PLEASE!  Thanks.

Slowly...losing...power...

Okay, I am going home at lunch and getting the charger.  Should I charge it or just let it run out?  Please, someone help?  Will somebody please think of the children!

First, try a power on soft reset. While the unit is in the cradle and getting power, do a soft reset and see if this brings it back to life. The next step would be a normal hard reset.

If neither of these steps work then it's a hardware problem you're not going to be able to fix. In terms of your Best Buy warranty, they still have PDA's on line. The NX80 is long gone though so I don't think you'll be getting one of those. They still list NX73 on their web site so I don't know what they'll offer you if you need to return it.
