View Full Version : Versamail is worth the money

I've been using VersaMail for the past two weeks, and - after trying Agendus Mail, Snapper, and Inbox to Go, among others, can definitely say the product is the best for my needs. Briefly, here's what I like about it:

1) It Syncs email subfolders from Outlook. This is HUGE (it also claims to sync with Outlook Express and other mail clientts, as well as some web-based mail systems, but I haven't tried them.)
2) It syncs quickly - I mean, for me, more than two or three times as fast as Agendus Mail. This means a lot if you're transferring hundreds of messages.
3) It supports everything a good client should - filters, multiple accounts, SMTP authorization, IMAP.
4) It shows some level of HTML and you can choose font size to see more of a message.

Drawbacks?
1) The interface is nice, but it is occasionally unwieldy - a little usability tune-up (making menus more sensible, eliminating unneccessary dialogs, etc.) would be huge.
2) It is expensive: $34.95 from Palm, and that's for Version 2.5, which doesn't support 320x480 (it works in 320x320.)
3) Regarding the above, there appears to be no update available to either Version 2.6 or 2.7, which have been released to Palm users (who get VersaMail free, I think, with their devices.) I suppose this is to maintain an advantage over Sony - and it is a nice advantage.

I wish it wasn't so expensive, but - in my view - it really stands way, way above the other Palm mail clients. Now, if Sony could only make Clie Mail as good.....

Here's the PalmOne link to the VersaMail info page, which also highlights the product's biggest flaw - no demo is available.

Maybe I should try it. I'm an Iambic Mail user, (ClieMail don't get Exchange), but I'm not very pleased with it... Thanks for the advice... :)

Thanks for the info, I still use Clie Mail, however I should give it a try as well.
