According to what I've read about VeriChat, you have to have a smart phone or a paging address for it to work.

You just need an active Internet connection. I use it with a 56k CF modem with no problem. It should work even with Sisoft PPP using the cradle.

Have you tried Palm MSN http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?sid=0DA3ECE3-D18C-41D0-8FC3D52F9127963C&prodID=44499

You need a JVM on your handheld available at http://java.sun.com/products/midp4palm/download.html but once this is installed you can use it for multiple java applets.

it's a great program, you can give any e-mail address and it will re-direct your lost messages to that address, you don't need a smart phone or anything like that, really cool

I use Palm MSN and it's got to be the best so far. Just make sure you also get the Java VM so that it will actually work!

I've tried Palm MSN and it is OK. It definately is the best as far as cost is concerned though (FREE). I don't like the half-meg java file thats required in RAM to run it. Can't use Java virtual machine with PowerRun either :(

I tried Verichat (78k) and registered it (1 year reg) for 24.99. I like the interface much better, but it uses a proxy server to talk to MSN. I only worry that the company might not be around a year from now :)

I also tried PalmMSN, but when I signed in, "Fatal Alert" appeared. The message was "Emul68KCommon.c, Line:1594, Index out of range." What is the problem?

It seems to sign in correctly, but nothing other.
