Hi all,

Clie Organizer for PC (patch to rel. 1.01 from Sony applied) is unbelievable slow on my PC. It takes around two minutes (!) to start up. Another two minutes to switch to the month view from day view. Clie Organizer just sits for two minutes and eats all CPU time. And changing the month (e.g. May to April) takes another two minutes. Everything else (contacts, todos) is fine in terms of speed. I already cleaned up my dates using the functionality found in Agendus, leaving only two months backwards of dates plus older repeating dates. No change in speed.

Palm Desktop is very fast showing the same data (less than a second) so I think it is not a problem with the speed of my PC (no swaping, reasonable fast PC with XP, only CO running in 512MB RAM).

On the TH55 Clie Organizer is not really fast, too. It takes around 4 seconds to switch views, which is just acceptable but not very comfortable. I am just evaluating Agendus and it is much faster.

I have had all my data in a PocketPC before. I transfered it to the TH55 using the bundled IntellisyncLite. After that I deinstalled Intellisync (I do not want to use Outlook anymore) and hotsynced the Clie so all my old data (took it with me all my PDA history) is in Palm Desktop and Clie Organizer now.

Is there anyone else with that problem? Are all Sony applications for PCs and PDAs that slow :-( ?
I am really hoping for a way to speed this up since I like my TH55 very much (except for the problem stated).

I used to have the same problem on my old computer it used to take about 10 seconds just to launch Clie organizer for pc but now with my new computer it only takees 2 seconds. I have the Sony Vaio with Pentium 4 HT with 3.2 Ghz and 512 of RAM. Even opening photoshop is much faster so very much loving the new computer :).

But a faster computer would not solve my problem. Or did anyone already spot the 300GHz processor that would make Clie Organizer answer in 2 seconds instead of 2 minutes? ;-)

So is Databk5 which is what I ended up using. Sony seems to write SW like Microsoft "The hardware will catch up". Until the hardware does catch up, I'll use third party software.

I will try DateBk as soon as my trial period for Agendus ends. Afterwards I will decide which one to buy.

But neithertheless Clie Organizer with the possibility to add hand written notes or "paintings" to a page in the datebook is very nice. I would probabely use it if it would be quicker.

yes i have the same problem. l have been vsing the multi media capabilities of co. multimedia aspects save time when inpvtting. Have only vsed CO for PC to sync FreeNotes. All other info syncs to oufiook. CO for pc is very slow process and no way to share Freenotes wlth windows based programs. Also no way to prlnt. Very frustrating .B/C over the last few weeks l have accumulated a vast collection of drawn and handwritten freenotes. As if that werent eanough now i cant even open CO for PC. What featvres I thought wovld help my prodvctivity now seem quite useless- just a multimedia toy. CO for PC is a weak link. Am l doing something wrong? Or is C0 along with TH 55 really vseless as anything other than a toy?

CO runs fine on my Athlon 2600+ (Barton Core) 1 Gig PC 2700 DDR, System --- You can see a tad more lag than Palm Desktop, however it runs pretty sprinty for me.

My PC is not high end (1,2GHz, 512MB RAM) but that does not explain the huge difference between few seconds and 2 minutes reaction time. It has to be a problem with the data I synced from my PocketPC using Outlook and Intellisync. I have no other explanantion since otherwise the PC runs quite ok. But what is it that is so strange about my data...

I have finally had enough of Clie Organizer. It is too slow/has not been optimised. I have been patient with this app, but Sony should have at least have made this app run fast enough in its own hardware. Waiting five seconds is too long for me.

There is no doubt that CO looks pretty, especially the filofax front-end, but enough is enough for me.

Thankfully I bought Agendus for my old T3 and am using that now. It zips along nicely.

Maybe better luck for release 2 of CO.

Same here, I've gone back to Agendus and the standard Palm Desktop app. The PC Organiser is one of the shoddiest pieces of software I've seen in a long time and really lets down the Clie version. Plus the TODO stuff on the Organiser is really poor - do the designers actually use this software?

The TH55 is the best PDA I've had, it's just let down by the Organiser.
