Since yesterday my Clie doesn't seem to stop charging once I put it into the Cradle. The orange light is on the whole time, even though the PDA is switched off and shouldn't be using any battery....
And what was even stranger was that yesterday evening when I used it at home the battery was going down very quickly... Has anybody out there experienced something similar and can help me?

Stays the orange light on, even when you keep the Clié the whole night in the cradle?

Try doing a soft reset while being on the cradle at the same time.

If you do a soft reset in the cradle you do realize that this will be a litteral HARD Factory reset. It will restor it to true factory presets. not like when you do a normal hard reset. Doing a cradle soft reset will make it like it was the second you pulled it brand new out of its box.

just wondering how it will be possible to push the reset button at the back of the clie while it is in the cradle?

Thanks that would have been my question as well.... By the way at least the battery seemed ok yesterday... But could you explain to me how to do a soft reset while in the cradle?

It is actually quite difficult. There are two ways, a paper clip with the very end bent that you could wggle in there. Two, I think it should work if you hit the reset and get it back on the cradle imedietly, maybe be just if you tilt it forward hit reset then put it back.

I do soft resets with a cable charger (the power's the important thing).  It only resets the battery meter.  Didn't remove anything from my clie.  It's not anything LIKE a hard reset (trust me, I've had my share of those, too!)

The cable, was it just a charger cradle or was it also a hotsync cradle connected to a powered up computer with hotsync open? I think this might have something to do with it. I also remember reading somewhere a while back about a "Cradle Reset" on rechargeable PDA's but can no longer find the website.

have noticed a similar weirdness with my NR70V where some days it behaves like this... orange light is on when I go to bed and still on when I get up.... almost always the battery shows 100% full.
Solution seems to be leave it off charge for a while, and let it get down a little way (say to the 75% full mark) then return to charger and it seems to sort itself out... putting it in the cradle when amost full seems to confuse it after a while
