When i get my NX80, i plan on getting a 512MB MemoryStick Pro for pics, mp3s, and what ever else i find cool...and i have a 128MB CF card from an old Digital camera. With what i have been reading, a lot of people use a CF Cards for MP3 and media files more than a memory stick. It sounds like my plan isn't too good with the MS and CF Card. I need your help, and input on which card is good for what!

I LOVE GAMES on my clie, and have quite a few of them...

It sounds like i can watch movies, and other cool media clips on my clie, so that's an option too.

I plan on storing A LOT of pictures on my clie.

I would like to store MP3s on it too...

I also have a few huge books and files that i read.

WHICH FILES/APPS SHOULD GO WHERE???

Should i get a bigger CF Card, and a smaller Memory Stick?
I will be able to answer this question by knowing everyone's opinion on where they keep their different files and apps. I want the best performance and speed necessary.

THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK!

The only reason people use CF as their larger card is because its alot cheaper (a 512mb mspro costs more than a 1gb CF). The MSPRO is actually faster and alot more conveniant (you can keep the CF slot retracted most of the time). If you can afford to get a big MSPRO then go for it.

Is there anything to choose between the different makes of MSPro, Sony, SanDisk etc?

SanDisk has some higher speed models but everything else is about the same (go with the lowest price).

Alright...i probably wasn't being too specific with my question. I am wanting to know which card is better for what kind of files/apps.

IS IT BETTER TO PUT MP3, VIDEO, GAMES, AND VOICE RECORDINGS ON THE COMPACT FLASH CARD, OR ON THE MEMORY STICK? WHAT IS EVERYONE'S OPINION ON THIS? WHAT CARD DOES EVERYONE PUT WHAT FILES/APPS ON?

Thanks for the feedback.

Here is what I've settled on finally.

I have mostly CF cards because they are so much cheaper.
I keep my music/mp3s on the CF and play them from there.
All other data such as Word documents, books, mail, etc is kept on CF.

I am a real movie fan so it is a major use of the NX70 for me.
I store my movies on the CF cards and transfer them to the
MS for viewing. There are just too many glitches with watching movies from the CF. It takes about 1/2 hour to transfer a 2 hour
movie from the CF to the MS. I have to keep the movie to under 228M because the stupid 256M MS Pro only has 228M usable space. Bottom line: I only had to buy one 256M MS Pro for $79 then I can buy $30-40 CF cards for storage.

Photos that I take with the NX70 or transfer from the computer go on the MS. The CF works fine but since the NX70 photos go on the MS I just decided to keep all photos there for consisentcy.

Hope this helps

John

In my case, I very rarely switch out the memory stick. This is because it contains my backups, the software I use on a regular basis and most of my regularly used data files. Therefore anything that is likely to be "transitory", i.e. audio files, pictures etc go to the Compact Flash.
Of course the fact that my digital camera uses CF contributes to that. The Clie provides a much better viewing platform than the little 1.5" screen on the camera. So to do that, the software needs to reside on the Memory Stick.

As has been pointed out, CF cards are much cheaper also.
