I noticed a trend that dead pixels tend to occur more likely in higher-end CLIE models...

What gives?

Yes, I had two NR70Vs with dead pixels and two NX70Vs with dead pixels. I don't know about the NZ90 but from what I've seen on the display models they appear to be using completely different displays that are the s**t. It appears to be better in quality then the NX70V!

The way the screens are made, it is very difficult to make them perfectly. The more advanced the screens are, the harder it is to make them without any flaws. I'm suprised there aren't more dead pixels on those Clie screens, those pixels are packed in WAY more than a laptop or desktop LCD screen.

The production of PDA screen is more or less like semiconductors. They also have yield rate problem. It can't always be 100% perfect. So there are LCDs catagorized by A grade, B grade, C grade, etc. Even with A grade products, they don't guarantee it's non-defect. If you want 100% non-defect LCD screen. The manufacturer have to sort them out. The result is we get it with higher price.
