New 512MB CF card - puzzling new problem

I just bought a 512MB Sandisk CF card to use in my NX70V / E.  I previously used a 128MB card made by Samsung.  I was able to play mp3 files using the (hacked) audioplayer from the 128MB CF card without any problem.  I transferred a whole load of mp3s to my new 512MB card and now my audioplayer play about two seconds of a song, and then jumps to the next song, plays two seconds of the song, and then jumps to the next...you get the idea.  This only happens with the 512MB card.  If I replace it with the old 128MB card, the audioplayer works fine.

I tried lots of searches for this, sorry if it's a recurring problem (no pun intended).

Any ideas?

Might try formatting it first with Card Info. If you tried this then disregard. I'll keep my eyes open.

I have managed to get a video onto the CF card and it plays OK with Movie Player, so I am guessing that the formatting is alright, but...if you recommend trying, I'll have a go.
