new forum type

I had been following a discussion here by the mods well before the database problems...

has anyone had any ideas on a new forum type that would hold xx number or xx days of messages and auto-cull itself to keep everyone happy (as if that were possible)?

I'd be willing to add my programming expertise, if it will help, though I might have to learn the scripts (trying to from vbulletin site) to see what I can do.

Are you talking about a new forum application, or modifying vbulletin?

As I understand it, it would have to be a script linking to another module like the gallery is.... but I am still reading on the new changes with auto-culling in vbulletin.... haven't quite figured out from what is available without being an owner of the software if that means culling of individual messages or full threads... keeping up with the messages over there to learn. :)
