Is anyone else having this problem.
My screen is becoming very "wobbley" at the area were it rotates. When ever I open or close the unit I am sure that the thing is going to break (bends ~5-10 degrees.) I just began to notice this about 1-2 weeks ago. I am starting to wish for a T690Z/V with everything like the NZ except the size & design of the T655 and of course make it 32 meg meomory (available). I would pay about $900 for such a device.

I have had no problem with either of my NR or NZ. Likewise with my brother's two units also.

how long have you had it? I had my nr and it became looser but not bad. My NX is fine, but then again its only 4 days old :)

I also had a NX for about 5 months - no problems
I've now had the NX for about 2 months - getting loose.

My NX is 3 months old, and it is a little wobbly now, too. Moreso than when I first got it.

I've had no such thing on my NX.

Yeah, I guess mine is slightly wobbly also. I usually use it in "tablet mode" though.

Yeah, when I flip my screen up (from either 'mode') it does pull a few degrees from the base before it starts to move, about a half inch (1.5 cm for those of you in countries smart enough to be using metric ;-)

Also the screen does not sit perfectly flat against the base when in 'tablet' mode, the gap is only a few mm.

Now that you've made me look closer I also noticed that the space between the screen and hinge where it swivels, is slightly larger on the right side than the left.

*paranoia sets in*

Also it seems that when I close the screen to 'clamshell' mode the hing does not actually close all of the way. This gap between the screen and the base, on the hinge side, is about 1 mm. If I push on it it closes all of the way.

Ok, and where there....just kidding! I'm to scared to look for more defects now!

I mean this type of this is basically to be expected due to the nature of the device-it is only one little screw holding the screen on that takes care of the swiveling. Thats why we see some play, and it is going to get loose after some time. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Plus, if it was solid, it would be easier to break because there wouldn't be any give to it. Kinda like skyscrapers :)

I have to agree totally with KDN102 notice of his Clie. I am a little frightened that it will eventually break.

I do have a replacement plan.... Best Buy.

I already replace one, although, because it wouldn't charge when I first bought it.

I would jump at a replacement/upgrade if there was a model like the NZ but the Size and design of the T655. Although, I have been considering down grading to the T655 just to get rid of the swivel thing and the size. I hate to loose virtual graffiti and I kinda like having the camera.

A little wobby, and if it gets worse as time to replace it runs out, I'm going to send it back to SonyStyle
