View Full Version : Connecting to PC via bluetooth

I'm trying to link my Th55 to my PC via my new bluetooth adapter. I have installed the adapter and it seems to be working fine (the adapter is a "Trust BT180 Class 1 USB Bluetooth adapter"). When I change my connection settings as advised in the manual the palmtop recognises the computer and the computer recognises the palmtop so originally I thought everything was working fine.

The devices discover each other and swap pin numbers without difficulty. When I try to perform a hotsync using the bluetooth connection, however, the PC tells me that the palmtop has connected via the bluetooth serial port - the Th55 tries to connect but eventually fails. While the attempt is being made the computer thinks the connection is working - the palmtop takes ages and always fails.

I've changed all the settings several times and cannot work out where I'm going wrong - the hardware has been installed according to the instructions and seems to be working fine.

Could someone please point me in the right direction?
Cheers

Double click on the bluetooth icon (in your start tray) and note the channel that your bluetooth adapter is using for it's serial port. Double click on the hotsync icon and make sure that the local serial port is using the same channel as the bluetooth adapter.

Run hotsync

This should fix the problem
