I installed this patch about three weeks ago and have not had a fatal error with my TJ25...
sysupdatefortj2535.exe
I stumbled across it at http://www.Sonystyle.ca after the support people at Sony told me they had not heard of a problem caused by the memory stick being ejected while the unit was off...
Here is their description of the patch:
This program updates the system software and resolves the following issues:
After turning the CLIÉ® handheld off, the handheld either cannot be powered back on or functions unstably. "Fatal Alert" and "Fatal Exception" messages may also appear when attempting to launch an application. This may occur when Alarm Setup and Data Protection settings change after the handheld is powered off.
The battery power is drained if Memory Stick® media is inserted and then removed from the CLIÉ handheld after it has been turned off.
Repeatedly starting and stopping the play of stereo music to external stereo speakers using the Aero Player application on the PEG-TJ35, may cause sound that is supposed to originate from one speaker to originate from the other speaker instead.
Cheers,
Dan
