Is there a program like aftersync, that will activate a program whenever you power on your clie?

Yes. You actually get 4 of them with every TH55. Just program a quick-launch button with the progam(s) you need, and pressing it will power on your Clie and run the program.

I'll have to admit it...you got me there. I didn't even think of that. However, is there a way to map the power button to act like one of the standard four? (Turn Clie on and Launch selected app?)

Let me amend that...I have the capture button set up as my power button. So is there a way to map a program to the capture button so that it will turn the clie on and launch the selected app?

No way that I am aware of - I assume you are using TheGoGo for your capture button-power on functionality. It does not (at least in it's present version) allow you to also map an application to the capture button. Maybe in a future version?

For now, I put all of my most commonly used programs (TiBR book reader, PocketLingo Dictionary, CRSMemo, and CO Address book) on the 4 quick launch buttons, and that takes care of probably 80% of my powerup application needs.

Maybe I am missing something here. How do you setup the fourth button. I can only setup the first three from Prefs. I would love to have something else for the fourth button.

Run a search in the forums for a program called The GoGo. It will allow you change the configuration of a few buttons.

Yes - as semdpm pointed out, TheGoGo is what you need. It not only will allow you to set up the 4th button, but will also allow you to power-on with the camera capture button, warn you if you leave your lens cover open, and lets you "power-on" with the 4th button as well. The "voice-rec" slide switch can also be programmed to initiate a hotsync. TheGoGo is one of the most useful apps EVER devised for the TH55.

Could someone go the "final" mile to merge mapbuttons, thegogo and a feature for hold button = alternate application start (as seen in Slow launch) into ONE application ? That would be the icing on the cake (cake being my TH55 :-)
