I tried very hard to get my MP3 working and tried a variety of ways. Well, it works now and these are the 2 things that I did (not sure which exactly worked)
1) I reset the clie. Because it froze and reset it.
2) I downloaded the mp3 from the application. So while the clie is docked, or connected to the computer, go to the mp3 player on the clie, then go to the menu and transfer option. The clie will pop up on your computer like a new device, drop your mp3 into the music manager folder, you'll have to click into the folder of the memory stick to find it, forgot the exact name. It's like mp3 manager or music manager folder. Then click disconnect ON THE CLIE APPLICATION. I forgot to do this and tried to stop the device on my PC and that froze up both the clie and the PC. So yeah, make sure you stop the connection via the clie. Then it should work. (BTW, the mp3 played just fine at 44MHz and in stereo, I didn't need to tweak the mp3).
Good luck.
