is there a way to play mp3's in the background, while working on something else?
I uploaded some documents on to document to go. these were saved onto the clie's internal memory. I tried saving to MS and got a warning that says that the file was unrecognizable. Are mp3's and mpegs the only files that can be saved to the MS?

MP3's can be played. You have to change it under options and preferences. You don't want to switch around where things are saved with DTG on the handheld-you want to move this on your DTG desktop. Under category I think is where it is, just change it to your MS.

I love helping people here, but I did read the entire manual when I got my handheld, and it was the first place I looked when I couldn't figure something out. If it wasn't in the manual, I looked here.
It's just a curtiousy to look in the manuel and do a search here before you ask for help. We are all newbies at first, but if the everyone asks the same questions over and over, people are going to get tired of asking.
I'm not saying to read the entire manuel or anything, but it would be a good idea to look it over and do some searches here for info.
Other than that, have fun with your Clie and welcome to ClieSource!!:) :)

your right, I appologize. I found exactly what I was looking for. I'll remember to atleast look first.
The whole MS export thing baffles me.
I would figure that you could pretty much move anykind of file over.
but oh well, thanks for all your help

Yeah, you can move any file over to the MS, its just that the palm os and most apps can't read a lot of files natively. In fact, I'm probably going to start keeping certain files with me all the time then simply use my MS card reader wherever I go. That way I don't necessarily have to carry around zip/cd/floppies with me.

I never use MS Export, it's not required to put files on the Mem Stick. What you do need to use though, is the MSImport app, which is on the Clie. When you run it, on your PC, if you go to My Computer, it will show up as an external hard drive. Then you move files to and from it just like on your PC.
