I've seen quite a few threads about people asking for recommended apps for their new Clie.  Truth is, I don't want to spend any more money on Apps so I was wondering if you guys could recommend some nice/must-have freeware apps and games for the Clie SJ30.

Thanks

There's just too many for me to think of any specifics right now. I'd recomment a browsing of tucows, handego, and palmgear. I believe they have catagories for different types of programs.

You could also try freewarepalm.com. Each night the site is updated with the latest in freeware applications.

My favorite freeware application is pilot-db. It can be found at http://pilot-db.sourceforge.net/. It is not hires, but it is still a great little application.

jjd1021: In CVS there is already a hires version, I've compiled it and running with no problems at all.

All freeware -

MyCheckbook
EasyLaunch (hack - allows you to launch three applications per button and more)
Static Chicken
Space Wars
Space Trader
Time Manager
Bubblet
Muppy
Pyramid
And so many more...

One awesome strength the Palm devices have over the PocketPC devices is the shear volume of FREE programs.

X-Master
MiddleCaps Hack
App/DA Launcher (if you have DAs, also for quick program access)
HandyShopper
AvantGo
FileZ (if you want to manipulate your files in detail)
ThinFontFix (I don't use it but if you think the default font is too "thin", get this)
HappyDays
Progect (and PDesk for desktop)
Plucker (I use it for reading Chinese newspaper since AvantGo doesn't support Chinese at all, it has more uses, chekc out www.plkr.org)
BibleReader (palmbible.sourceforge.net, or you can try www.olivetree.com one, I think the first one is better)

Unfortunately, some of my favorites that used to be freeware aren't free anymore (i.e. McPhling, Launcher III, etc.) but here are a few that still come at no charge.
General:
StreamLync
AvantGo
YAPS (password storage utility)
HandyShopper
MobileDB Lite
SoftTrack 1.2
Tipper

Games:
SolFree
Vexed
Yahdice (Yahtzee)

Hacks:
X-Master (hack manager)
MiddleCaps
Crash
ButtonOnHack

Also, if you travel a lot like I do you might appreciate PocketFly Palm, which allows you to store timetables/schedules for a given airline on your Clie (updated at every sync). Now when I miss my connection, I always know when the next flight is scheduled out. This one's not available through PalmGear. See www.goldenware.com.

Same old question is asked many times.  Searched for 'freeware apps' and found this (http://www.cliesource.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9634&highlight=freeware+apps).
