HI,
I'm new to this world of PDA's and I am just wondering what the boundaries of use are for the SL10 that I have recently purchased.
Is there any way that I could connect to the internet to check my mail through the SL10? I have a Sony z7e mobile which is WAP enabled. And it would also be possible for me to dial into my network in work to check the emails.
I am barking up the wrong tree here completely?
Also whilst in work, how could I connect the PDA to the network?
Really I dont have a clue about the limitations of these products and I'd like to get the full use out of them!
Thanks
Burnsy

Don't know about connecting to network but email via mobile's a snap. I rely on it when I'm out the office.
You just need a mobile with an IR modem (I use a Siemens S35), email software for your SL10 (check out mMail and Multimail for starters, others will have own preferences depending on whether they need access to multiple accounts, ability to download attachements etc). Define a network connection under prefs for your ISP (Multimail even provides a wizard for this but it's same process you'd do on your PC) and input email servers, passwords etc.
From then on getting and replying to your email's a 1 tap process. If you do a lot of replies on the move you may consider buying a full-size keyboard.

You'll need a cable to connect your phone to your clie, (i don't think the Z7 has infrared) try

I conect using a cable and also via infrared (depoending on which phone i'm using), I use the Eudora mail and Web program, do a google search for EUDORA, it's free for the full version.
I can check pop3 email and use the internet (web clipped) whenever I want, the only stumbling block is that some web based secure log-ins aren't supported.
Good Luck!

Thanks for all the help,
I'm going to give it a go getting it set up. I fear that there is no connecting lead to a z7e from the sl10 but having said that my phone is due for an upgrade within the next couple of months and I'll aim for one with a IR port.
If anyoneelse has suggestion about network intergratation please do give me a shout :)
Thanks

I think Sony makes wireless network card modules. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I remember seeing that somewhere....

I remember when the S300 ( i think that's the one) came out, The SONY CENTRE could do a cable to link to the old J5, they had to special order them, they might do a newer version, worth a try at least, bet it'll cost loads if they do though!
