I just got a new 55 yesterday from amazon.com. When I open certain programs that begin with a dark screen (piscel viewer, clie demo) there is one blue dot in the middle right of my screen. Is it worth the trouble returning my new clie. Will this problem worsen? Has anyone else had this happen to their 55's? Thanks.

My First TH55 had that problem as well, the good news ls that it wont hurt anything and after a while you may get used to it.

that's what they called 'dead pixel'

i say return it, and get a new one defective free. You shouldn't have to put up with that.

You could also try the "fix it" technique which I have found not to be helpful. Using a tissue, rub a small circle around the dot and try to re-activate the pixel. Some people have had results with this on other models.

This happens from time to time with LCD screens. If it bothers you, I say return it. But it won't hurt anything, and if you don't mind ONE pixel blue all the time, don't worry about it. It's a pretty common occurance in these screens.

You should never use a tissue on a "naked" screen because tissue is quite abrasive.

Same here, and I'm returning it to the sender :-)

That's why I currently have two TH55; what a feeling!

Return it, that's a no go when you want to see pictures...

Mine had green dead pixel. Just returned it to officedepot. I thought about not returning it, but than again why should I ignore when I bought it. So we have a green pixel, a blue pixel anyone with a red dead pixel.

I bought a TH55 yesterday from OD and it has 1 pixel stuck on light blue towards the middle of the screen. You dont notice it at all unless the screen is really dark where the dead pixel is. What is the percentage of LCDs screens having a dead pixel; it seems pretty high considering the ammount of post on this thread alone. Do you guys think I should get an exchange over 1 dead pixel?

yes, i have one red pixel that only shows up on dark backgrounds. i'm keeping it as that part of the screen is rarely dark...
