Right now i am about to purchase an NX70v. I have two choices either a refurb from overstock for about $415 or a new one for $500. I have concerns about the refurb but for the price difference of $85 i can get two memory sticks, and a launcher or any other software. Another issue is that i want to get a warranty from compusa and i was wondering if i could put a warranty on the refurb. Lastly does anyone know where i can get a NX60 for less that 400 or 350 and if so i will gladly buy

I've got a slightly used (about 2 weeks) NX70V that I'd like to sell since I just purchased a NZ90. Someone make me a reasonable offer!

If it's not a factory refurb, it could have been someone else's headache.

well that is the thing, whether to get a new one or refurb?
If you get the refurb, if it from Sony, I would say no problem. Sony Refurb would be as good as new. However, if it is from another vendor, it may not come with all the accessories (MP3 remote and headphones, cables, etc). If this is the case, it would not be worth it since the remote is $45.00 if you need to purchase separately.

I got my NX60 demo from CompUSA for $330.00 as long as I paid for the 2 year replacement plan. I would likely have purchased it anyway since I have ruined PDAs before.

I would suggest you get a refurb only from sony

I called the people from overstock.com and he told me that everything was complete and that the refurbs were from sonh as it said from the website. He assured me that the products everthing was complete and that there were no cosmetic blemishes on the product. By the way i was the one who started the forum

I have heard about a few people here having severe troubles with overstock.com - of course I think it was before we lost all the posts so you couldnt do any research. Just to let you know....

The refurb's are going for a great price, but IMO with the Clie I would rather by new...unless I could inspect the item before purchase.

I by a lot of refurb or "white box" computer stuff, but the Clie is not as rugged as the other stuff I buy.

I would say if the refurb's have a return policy to go for it.

I've bought several Sony refurbed products, a PictureBook PC and an N760C handheld. I saved about $100 on the N760C and now it's worthless because of a bug in the jog dial and bad battery. Had I bought new, I could sell it for about $200.

I can say with great certainty that the risk you take with a 90 day warranty does NOT justify the cost for me. What I have found is that Sony innovates a great deal on a variety of consumer electronics. Sometimes, not quite everything they sell has all the bugs out of it before they bring it to market. When I bought my new NX70V, I made sure that I bought new. One of the first things I noticed when opening the box is a paper that implores you NOT to take it back to the store.
