Map software recommendations?

i'm looking to map driving directions. any recommendations would be most appreciated!

I hear a lot of people like mapopolis. I don't have any personal experience with it though.

It depends where do you live. I think for European, use Tom Tom. I live in Singapore, use HandMap 4.4, GPS Plugin, Singapore Map. I bought them all for $50. If you're interested of creating a map for HandMap you can use MapIt!, free opensource software.

I live in europe but use mapopolis..... find it much quicker than Tom Tom and prefer the map detail..... I suggest you try them both and see which one you prefer.....
