Anyone know what kind of quick time movies the movie player will play? I wanted to export some movies from iMovie and view them on my clie.

MPEG4. You'll need QuickTime Pro to do this (and admittedly I haven't tried, since Missing Sync can't mount the memory stick yet), but load your movie, select "Export" from the QuickTime Player file menu, choose "MPEG4" from the popup list of formats, copy the resulting file to your Clie, and see if it works...

Will this work directly from iMovie 3 or do you need to have QuickTime Pro?

I know almost nothing about iMovie, but if it can export as MPEG4, it should work.

OK, I've spent about an hour playing around with MPEG4 export in QuickTime Pro and iMovie.

No joy. I've tried every different setting I can think of, and the Movie Player on the Clie can't play any of them. Darn.

I have QuickTime Pro 6. I opened up my Clie movie to change the title from Movie from Clie to something relevant that's all I changed and hit save. Moved it back to the Clie and it wouldn't work. I called Sony and they told me I needed to export MPEG4 @ 15.5 fps. Doing that it worked fine. I have other MPEG4 at 15.5 fps from my digital cameras and those play fine without using the converter just moving to the MS and renaming.

The new missing sync beta (b4) is out and mounts the mem stick fine under osx.

I just tried exporting from qt as mp4 with 15.5 fps and the movie player app told me the file format wasn't supported and would not play. Are you doing anything else w/ the settings and what are you naming the file? What are you using to play it on the clie? Thanks.

I also have QT 6.1 pro and i took a movie and exported it as an MPEG4 file with the fps as stated above. Still no go. I renamed the movie to be MOV00001.MQV and it comes up in the list, but will not play. Anyone else got any suggestions? I'd really like to get this to work. Also....btw...the new MissingSync Beta (b4), I can get the MS to mount using the audio player but not MSImport. Anyone else having this problem?

Hmm my mem stick mounts fine under b4, no problems thus far. I mounted the stick and copied all the data over as a back up.

Go to Bored.com scroll to Stupid Videos here you will find a collection of some of the most hysterical, interesting and amazing clips, get a login name I think it costs .99 cents a month payable $2.97 every three months or $12 a year or something like that. Anyway you will love this site. Some favorites are Jacko Wacko, Shocked, Horsekick, Good Goalie, Dan is good, Dropped Communion, Evil Penguin I & II plus hundreds of others. Once you login you can save these to your HD in Quicktime format. Then go to your clie install disk and install the program Image Converter. Open that up and convert your Stupid Video QT files to the format the NZ90 reads and install the videos on to your Memory Stick. Then you will be able to play them on the Clie Movie Player and the quality is great.
