Any one know of an app/hack to enable widescreen/landscape view for the clie? I know the movie player can do it. Web pages, pics and other apps would look tight in that view.

it's all good.. clearly he was just giving an additional statement to clear up any questions anyone might have as to how he knew the answer, and was it valid.

I am no programmer either but, I think it's possible if someone wants to pursue it.

The used to have this same "hack" for the PPC. Except it was an app, not a hack. So it's gotta be able to be done for palm too.
Enjoy.

I apologize, it wasn't meant to be critical and I didn't think in making a hasty reply to your question. Yes, I am aware of the lost data base, so that wasn't the issue. I merely was trying to state that there was no ifs, and's or butt's about it. There would be no doubt in your mind that such was currently unavailable. I can't wait for the day when I can turn the display to view web pages and emails in the landscape mode. I hope you now understand what was my very poor attempt to convey the point I was trying to make.

damn. lot of heat here. i thought it was kinda funny he said that. good to see it bumped up the thread. Perhaps cliesource should make that the next contest so these programmers can get some practice for the CF drivers.

The new version of tealdoc can do this. Tehres a lil rotate button on the bottom bar which allows u to use it in fullscreen landscape mode to either the right or the left.
It really kinda rocks for reading books in bed.
It says it has some kind of HTML support, and the demo docs that come in the download seem to be some kind of compiled HTML. It also works with images. Ive not tried TealMovie, but i wouldnt doubt it has the same function in it too.
If youre looking for an ebook reader, this may be what you want. I myself havent decided if I like it more than TomeRaider yet though. I cant figure out how to make TealDoc break my books up by chapter the way TR does. Also since I dont know that step... I have to use text files... which dont allow bookmarks.
Hope that helps you

Palm reader pro will also rotate the screens in all four directions, so I would also say it's possible, just not done yet.

So does the Mobipocket Reader Pro 4.5
It has a rotate function and you can read your Mobipocket stuff in widescreen mode.

I dont have a NX70V but am probably getting one soon. If you were importing pics then u could just rotate them in windows so u would be viewing a 'portrait' pic but the subject would be on its side so its essentially landscape, i think that would work.

Yes, in Photostand, a slideshow application. I much prefer using Acid Image, but it is a 3rd party application and so is Splash Photo and that has auto-rotate where as Acid-Image you can rotate apps and zoom apps manually. I also believe Acid Image will view the most common photo types available.
Congrats, your my 1,000th victum :D!

Uhm.. I thought we were talking about a hack to make EVERY program work in widescreen mode =) . I have not seen any yet, but I guess there would be two ways to do it: one REALLY ugly one that would work in every application and one really good one which would only use landscape mode for forms...
1. Of course you could just take the gfx buffer and rotate it. Easy. And ugly. And slow.
2. As most forms on PalmOS use one standard system you could just take the coordinates from the form... and rotate and scale them. This would be REALLY nice, but would not work on all apps, so it would be nice to have another hack which would just rotate all pictures, without scalling.
