I want to clear all the personal info off my Clié before sending it in for repair. If I hard reset so it's "fresh" do you think the technicians will care? Or do I need to have it set up like I normally I use it (i.e. installed programs, etc)?

Thanks. I've never done this before and I don't want anything to keep me separated from Clié any longer than absolutely necessary :)

Interesting question. Personally, I would do a backup on my MS and on the computer, then do a hard reset before sending it in. But then again, I have never done this before. Maybe someone with experience with this will tell us what they did.

They actually ask you to preform a hard reset before sending the device in for service. Unfortunately, I could do that on my own Clie due to the specific problem I had with my Clie (the power/hold switch was broken)

A agree with the above posts. Backup so you can restore your handheld when it is returned to you. Hard reset to wipe it clean of all your data.
