I have recently bought a Memory Stick to go along with my TJ37. When I try to access it with either Data Export or as an external drive in an Explorer window, the folders are accessable for about 10 seconds and then they freeze up. When I unplug the clie, it unfreezes. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Data Export software and it doesn't help. I know there is nothing wrong with the clie itself or the memory stick because I installed it on my roommates computer and I can read the memory stick files just fine, with no freezing.

Has anyone else experienced this? I called Sony support and they said they had not heard of this problem and there was nothing they could do. I would greatly appreciate anyones thoughts on the matter.

Thanks!

Are you using Win98 or WinME

I have always had trouble with Win98/WinME and USB memory drives. It seems to lock up but is still sending data. Look at the MS LED, is it still flashing. Windows will return to normal when it has sent all the data to the MS.

Actually, I've been trying to access the memory stick on XP Home. The frustrating part is that it will see the folders on the memory stick for about 5 seconds and then it totally locks up. When I initially install the data export software and restart the computer, it finds the new hardware and everything looks good until I plug in the clie for the first time, and then after the freeze it says that the drive may have not installed properly or something like that. I rolled my system back and tried to uninstall reinstall, but that didn't help either. All my other USB devices work fine so I can't figure out what it could be.
