I don't seemt o be able to get it to work. The drivers that came with it are for OS4.1 They don't work for the NX... There are no drivers at Sony for the NX. I am LOST!

hi totisgr ...

I did a quick search on http://www.css.ap.sony.com/ and it's all there.

Go to this website and on the left, select 'CLIE handheld' under the pulldown menu.

Then on the main page, enter 'NX series' for 'Series', any 'NX70' model under 'Model' and then the first menu entry 'Bluetooth Module utility v2.0' under 'Software patches' ...

Pretty much self-explanatory after that :)

There are updated drivers found where the previous poster has indicated.

The new drivers work superbly with the Clei NX Series.

Also download the utility btToggle, it is something to toggle the Bluetooth device on and off.

I've heard rumors that the Microsoft bluetooth access point only supports the keyboard and mouse.

Silly, I know... I don't know if it's true, but it's what I've heard before.

Unfortunatly i think that it's true. Only Keyboard and mouse are supported. Anyone want's a day used bluetooth memory stick?

Hi again totisgr ... I wouldn't give up that easily ...

At this time, I use my bluetooth memory stick to wirelessly check my work and personal email using my bluetooth mobile phone ... I do this, perhaps, ten-fifteen times a day ...

I'm a big SMS/text messaging kinda guy and so use funSMS 3 to send text messages and make backups of my phonebook on my mobile phone to my Clie, again via Bluetooth.

At the same time, I occasionally hotsync my Clie to my laptop when I'm at a customer site ... Customers are never ceased to be amazed despite them knowing about the technology ... The fact that I am utilising it is what wows them over (as well as the fact the NX70 is a 'wow'-machine :)

Lastly, even though you have a bluetooth-enabled keyboard and Clie, it would be great if you could use the keyboard to type on the Clie, however it comes down to *relevant* software being loaded on the Clie. Add in the fact that Microsoft are a relatively new player to the Bluetooth market and I would be very surprised if it worked ...

I guess, each to their own but I cannot understate the usefulness of checking email and smsing via bluetooth ... *very* convenient indeed ... :)

khyasad,

How did you get this working with BT ? my NX70V with the drivers from the Sony UK site load up fine then if I use funSMS, it can't connect and keeps saying something like 'Connection to phone has been lost...' when trying to send a message...any tips ?

The phone I'm using is a T68.

Regards
DJ

The Microsoft keyboard does it definitely not. This is the very first one using this enhanced protocol.
The following ones will support also the standard BT protocols. The new protocols will also enable us to work with telephones at home or to setup the PC or the mp3-Player and much more.. They will also have more bandwidth in future up to 5Mbps.
Shame on the NX not having it built in...

Just looked over my NX70 settings and not sure what to recommend as it was pretty much self-explanatory to set up.

I configured it to look at a 6310i & Vodafone and then connected via BT ... worked first time ...

Try de-installing and re-installing ... also, no need to connect first via the prefs .... that's the only time I get the message you;re getting ...

yes, I have the same problem. After installing FunSMS, bluetooth connections start not working. then if I install bluetooth driver again this time I can not open fmml panel.
they do not work successfully onthe same device.

Okay, spent a little more time looking at the settings ...

Now, every time I select fmml in prefs, i get a fatal exception, so that's problem number one ...

However, funSMS itself looks fine (works from memory stick, flash memory and RAM) ...

I haven't touched the Bluetooth libraries at all ...

My settings are :

Country : UK
Net : GB Vodafone
Details : <insert service center of your mobile number>
Conn : Bluetooth
Maker : Nokia
Model : 6310, 6310i
Details (Retrieve all is unchecked)

How do I use funSMS.

I have my Nokia 6310i to not ask for authorisation when the NX70 connects.

I have already got it paired up using the approproiate passkey

Next, I don't go to Prefs to connect first. I just click on write message or retrieve message straight away and it auto-connects to my Nokia via BT ...

That's it guys ... I've just sent an SMS back to myself to test and all is still fine ... Good luck !

why not just buy a cheap USB dongle? I got mine for around $30 and it works just fine with my Bluetooth Memory stick.

Is there a site that has photos of the BT stick in devices?

i think there may be an issue between the T68i and the bluetooth memory stick..when using fun Sms (or gsm tool) this is the only service i cannot seem to get working (but i can get it working via IR?) so this says to me it is a BT MS problem :-(

I see. I can also work with funSms and BT MS together. The problem is with fmml panel.
When I do not run fmml everything is fine.

BTW, caipro you say that is same with gsmtool. Does gsmtool support Bluetooth ?

Hmm, I used MokeyMessenger and a Nokia 6310, then a T68i and MonkeyMessenger again via BT. Worked just fine. Its(t68i) a European Release.
Haven't tried out GSMTool. Unfortunately my BT-Stick got broken :( Too expensive to buy again...

I must be missing something. I just got the bluetooth mem stick. I installed the drivers that came with it, then realized that they were for 4.0 only. I found this thread and downloaded the 5.0 upgrade from the sony website. I installed that, but when I go to the bluetooth menu in PREFS, it says:
Missing Bluetooth compoinents. Please reinstall software. Which I do to no avail. WHat am I missing?

How do you manage that? I can't run funSMS without fmml panel or fmml v2

I run the fmml panel once. Then I leave it as it is.
You don't have to use fmml for a second time if you don't change the gsm phone.
