It also allows for more than 16MB of RAM.

Sony has had less than 5 OS upgrades since the S series of clie's. Its unlikely we'll see an upgrade any time soon.

Most likely it'll be in a new Clie unit I bet. While I love the Clie series, Sony seems to treat them a lot like their consumer appliance. Make it good, make it last - but no need to offer upgrades save bug fixes.

I hope it will be in TG50....and sony would offer more than 16mb in TG50.

If Palm OS 5.2 is the update that allows more than 16MB of RAM, and the Garmin iQue has 32MB of RAM that makes me think it may be the first Palm OS 5.2 device using a Virtual Graffiti 2 area! Cool, but I worry about application compatibility with the Garmin with it's apparent unique Hi-Res+ API. I'm tempted to switch to it, but I have so many Sony Clie accesories like extra cradles, charging/hotsync cables, game controller and such.

You mean they come in other versions? Here in South Alabama that scope for the camera makes it a really big seller:D

Bad news, I just had an online chat with Sony Tech Support and here is what I got:

Matt: I'm afriad you can't upgrade the Palm OS on NZ90 CLIE Handheld.
OaklandZ: AT ALL?????
Matt: No, you can't upgrade the OS.

Of course, Matt could be wrong. I would guess that some of the well-connected ClieSource members may be able confirm or deny this information.

Sorry to break it to you, but the iQue only really has the same 16MB of RAM all the other OS5 devices have thus far. the "32MB of RAM" comes in when you add the additional 16MB of space used exclusively for the GPS maps.
