NX73V
Installed JackFlash Lite, which says that the full program will give me almost 16MB of new space in ROM to store read-only (I guess) "stuff", like ebooks, etc.

Can I believe that amazing number? If it's true - I looked at the thread which discusses compatible SW and it looks like there's a bunch of stuff on my machine that could be moved over. Right now I'm just about out of RAM - this would help a lot, but I need confirmation before I spend the $20.

There's also something called JackSprat which permits deleting firmware to make even more room. Brayder says not for CLIE OS5, but I saw a comment indicating that someone made it work. I'd like to get rid of some of the things I've replaced with 3rd party SW, thus freeing up even more space.

You have it right - there is is indeed almost 16mb of flash ram available in the US versions of the NX73/80.  JackFlash is worth every penny.

JackSprat is not intended for these devices and whereas you may experience a hard resest - back to factory preset - with a misuse of JackFlash, you can experience permanent damage to your device with misuse of JackSprat resulting in an amazingly realistic clie-like paperweight.

Jack Flash is a must for every owner of an NX73/80 as myself, you'll be amazed for the things you can store in ROM...

I have it on my nx70, and although I only get 4m vs the 16m you will get, it was well worth the $20

jackflash and powerrun are must have for NX series.

I stored 50 apps in my 73v including large ones like dreamway, snails or warfare...

Actually ZLauncher trumps PowerRun in both functionality and price.:)

i own powerrun for ages lol

i can't get used to other launchers but the standard one. I'm kinda old school, that's why i keep up with powerrun, that works on standard launcher :)

I understand your dilema, i started with ZL, and now i won't change it for anything else, pain heels, chics make scars, but bad habits are forever... :p

also PXAclocker can overclock apps moved to memory card using powerrun (you have a check box for overclocking apps moved using powerrun in the options).

So i can use scummvm, gizmo and nesem overclocked AND stocked in MS.

Haven't seen anything about ZL in PXAclocker...

Guess the trick is to decide what to put in flash and what in MS. Usually I put in flash those that I use the most and take too long to get from MS, or those that I don't want to loose if I take the MS card out (though I haven't taken it out since I got it :))

i put games on card. doesn't matter if launching is slow.

i put in flash usefull stuffs that i need to open often and quickly.

exception : scummvm, because some games require reset to quit, and then you get duplicates...

I put really large files that take a long time to be taken from the MS into flash
such as maps, docs2go, etc

then i put programs that i want into the flash
and anything that can't be put into flash, i put into RAM
no program is run from memory stick EXECPT jackflash and backupbuddy, incase of a hard reset i can quickly restore these files
