Hello all,

Here is my problem. I searched ALL over the fourms, but I haven't found anything that can help me.  Here is the issue.  I just got that unlimited plan from Cingular (MEdia Works - Internet Express - Multimedia Messaging - Text Messaging - Web/E-mail Messaging) and I want to use my UX to connect to the Internet through the GPRS network.

Here are my settings on the phone

Data bearer: GPRS
Access Point Name: isp.cingular
User Name: WIXDC001@W5.MYCINGULAR.COM
Password: ZXY203DC9K0402
Authentication: Normal
Gateway IP address: 66.209.11.61
Homepage: http://google.com
Connection Security: off
Session Mode: Permanent

When I use my browser on the phone, I get a page that askes me for my Phone number and pin. I put in my phone, and my pin, but I go to an error page "We are currently experiencing technical difficulties"

So, I am assuming that either they dont have me set up right, or I dont have something set up right.

Next I try to connect with my UX. Here are my settings:

User Name: WIXDC001@W5.MYCINGULAR.COM
Password: ZXY203DC9K0402
Connection (My BT connection)
Phone: I have tried *99# and *99***1# and *99***2#

When I dial *99***1# it looks like it is going to connect. When I look at my phone the G has a square around it wich means it is connected. but the PALM never goes off "Dialing Cingular GPRS".  When I try the other ones. they just error out.

Anyone know what I am doing wrong?!?!?!?!?! Thanks for any help!!

p.s. Cingular Tech support is NO HELP!!!!

your setup looks good - just ake sure that in the advanced settings that the DNS stuff it set to auto and that your connection timeout is never.

also - ring them up and make sure that all your things are enabled, GPRS/WAP

1 more thing - try using a different CID number - *99***[CID]# - alot of phones require you to use two or even three (there are 7 CID slots in most phones)

If I do anything other than 1, It retrys a couple times, then I get this error on the UX "Error: phone number is too long or contains invalid characters (0x1109)"

1) you know that [CID] is to be rplaced not just CID?
2) that CID is Carrier ID - it is the profile number in your phone that the connection should use.
3) why arwe you using a blokia? SE kicks in this arena and IMO a heelofa lot of others too
4) have you instaled the palm phonelink drivers? (the app wont run so delete it but the phone drivers will be available)
5) stick CID = 1
6) if all else fails you will know why? the 3650 has a bad record of working as a BT modem - really - all nokias are acknowledged as being harder to get to work like this. This is not a biased statement.

I use a SET610 so mine worked once i got the drivers installed - maybe thats all you need.

I made the CID 1, but it still doesn't work. It looks like it just hangs when it tries to connect. If it hangs cna thet mean wrong username or password? Hmm....
