View Full Version : NX70V vs NX80V - Observations NEone?
Last week due to a truel twist of fate...I lost my NX70V . I was so distraught because I had it JUST the way I wanted it. Slightly overclocked using some freeware software. Slightly hacked so that I could use my 256MB CF card with no problem and using Jacksprat so I could access the ROM as storage...and other things. After a few days saying I could live without it...I CANT!!
however, Upon looking for some NX's today on the market...ive noticed some vendors selling the NX80V for LESS than a NX70V....why is that? It seems that I can get a NX80V for about 350$ or so but a NX70V for...MORE than that?
So basically, before I make a small mistake.....I need some opinions on which system to get...
I'm most likely going to rehack my nx70v if i get it so it can use CF cards again and the ROM...I think the nx80v can use them natively....so...with that sort of evening out things...I want some opinions...thanks! :D

Get the NX80v. You won't regret your choice. I was having the same dilemma. Use the search button and many posts will come up.
i forgot....ill have to look it up when i get my system...i dont think itll work on the nx80 tho....it was very simple..it had settings for the memory clock...cpu clock and something called turbo cpu clock...all i had to do was set it and then turn on and off the power....if the over (or underclock) worked..the power would turn on.....if it didnt..i needed to do a soft reset..
anyone want to offer opinions still?...help

wow...looks great..ooooh....im almost 100% ready for a new NX80V..
Just some last minute minor confirmation question..
1) It says in its description "the CompactFlash (Type-II) 3 slot also provides limited support for CompactFlash Memory Cards as optional data storage" (DATA STORAGE only???)
Do I still need to hack anything then if I want to natively play my mp3s or videos off the CF card or when it comes to saving video / camera shots directly to the CF? (I had trouble with that on my NX70V). No need for the hacked mp3 player or viewer then at all? It says in its description. How will this work if I have both the CF and the MS slots filled then?

search pelaca
go to his webpage
get the CF ready apps
or you could go 3rd party with pocket tunes or aeroplayer to play mp3's

I made a last minute change from a nx70 to a nx73 due to Decumma imput. Since I am not used to graffiti I find Decuma great! It renders the keyboard almost useless.
I regret not having bought the nx80 though, for the 1 mp camera.
If you dont mind the low-resolution camera, you could consider the new th-55:
- Comes with Decumma
- wifi
- Clie Organizer
Good Luck!

You can user lightspeed or PXA clocker, personally i feel that PXA clocker is more stable.
i think thats what i used (pxa) but im not sure anymore. when i search for PXA clocker. It looks like pxa clocker isnt freeware.

I agree that Decuma is great, but it can be installed on an NX-70. It costs $29.95. I've been using it on my NX-60.
