I am considering upgrading from my T615 to T665 before they are gone for good. Sony sells refurb. ones ontheir website for $30 less than the new ones go for online at other retailers. Anyone had good or bad experience with Refurbished Sony or other PDAs?

I've bought other Sony refurbished items with no problem. Sony only warranties their refurbished products for 90 days though.

I bought my wife a refurb NR and its just like new. Another sony product I bought refurb was a sony Tivo. I got lucky with that one. Not only was it just like new and discounted in price, it "accidently" came with the lifetime tivo subscription, which costs $250. (soon to be $300.) They forgot to cancel the subscription from the last user, and 1 year later, it still works great!

Bought my NR70V refurb from Sony, so far working great. Am slightly afraid of the 90 day mark, though. Oh well...if it breaks, then I guess I upgrade, right? ;-)

It sounds like you wouldn't be too dissapointed if it did break. I know 90 days isn't long. But if the unit works that long, you have a pretty good shot it will continue to work for awhile. Atleast until you are ready to upgrade!

I bought a "manufacturer refurbished" NR70V and love it. A new one couldn't be better than the one I got. That said, I would expect a significantly larger discount than $30 to buy refurbished instead of new, mainly because the new one comes with a 1 yr warranty vs 90 days on the refurbished. I paid $300 for my NR when new was still selling for 450 in Best Buy and most online retailers.

Can't one always use an excuse to upgrade? Although, I'm not sure I want the NX, since I'd never use the CF...but a 1GB memory stick would sure be nice!
Yeah, I'm always ready to upgrade...my checkbook? Might argue with me about that.

I'm always ready to upgrade my checkbook!!! Then I could upgrade anything else I wanted!

One other tip on refurbished. Make sure it is "manufacturer refurbished" with a manufacturer warranty. Products refurbished by third parties frequently are missing documentation and/or standard accessories. I generally avoid third party refurbishers.

Good point on the checkbook upgrade...anyone know where I can get one of those? Preferably, it'd be freeware, and have unlimited use...

My T615 is a Sony refurb, and it works great. It has a minor scratch or two on the casing, but I don't mind that. I agree with sebring, though; for only a $30 discount I would probably go with a new one.

The refurbished products I bought were at the least $100 off. If it is only a matter of $30 I would go with the new one. You should see if there are any Sony outlets near you as there might be a larger discount at them.
