Just tried version 1.35 of Mapopolis on my NX73 and like what I see so far. Just one (minor) problem ...

I use the regular SONY launcher and this new version has a nice looking world globe as it's icon when I have the app selected. If I move to another app though the mapopolis icon morphs into this wierd pen looking thing and I can't figure out how to get the "real" icon to display consistently.

I had this same thing happen with NetFront 3.1 while I was trying to figure out how to properly install it ... even had the same pen like icon. Once NetFront was installed properly it's icon changed to the "real NetFront" icon.

Any help or suggestions appreciated! I hope I've articulated this problem clearly enough but will happy to try and clarify anything that might be confusing

THANKS!

I saw that happen when I was playing around with the betas. I think the pen is the default icon for applications. Is it in RAM or int mem? Either way just delete it and reinstall it. If it is in int mem, delete the 5k *Mapopolis file in RAM using fileZ - it is locked and can only be deleted with filez - it is the shortcut to the appl in int mem.

Reinstall..icon should be fixed. It is not a mapopolis issue - it is a UX issue...no big deal really.

I have both Mapopolis & Mapopolis Words in ROM courtesy of JackFlash and it works well. The only other Mapopolis file I have on the system is "Mapopolis_Patl_appl" at about 84bytes

I checked the attributes with Filez and this isn't locked but is marked as a resource DB. The last time I unchecked the "resource db" box on a file on my system this way my device crashed and I had to do a hard reset so I'm a bit gunshy ...

Is this (Mapopolis_Patl_appl) the file you meant and am I safe in unmarking the resource db attribute in order to be able to delete it?

THANKS!!

You meant you have it RAM, right?  Never used JackFlash - besides thought it didn't work?? http://www.cliesource.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=41762&highlight=jackflash

The file I'm referring to in filez is called *Mapopolis, it has a lock symbol, and is 5k.  Anytime I have deleted something from int mem I always have to delete these files because it is the shortcut to the executeable on int mem that shows up after a soft reset.

If you somehow have it in ROM, your guess is as good as mine

Yep ... I have it ROM but I should have made it more clear that this is on an NX not a UX (posted in the UX forum since there was another thread relating to Mapopolis and thought this would get better visability as a result)

Anyway ... searched using Filez for all 5K files and for all files beginning witha " * " and came up empty. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling ... no joy.

It's only an icon ... guess I can learn to live with it ;-)

Thanks for your suggestions!
