NX80 - Car Drives Across Screen

Ok so I am sitting here at work just happen to look over at my NX80 sitting open in the cradle with Agendus agenda view up.

I saw this little yellow car drive across the screen.

I have been watching it intently since and haven't seen it again.

What is up with that?

Someone please tell me I am not losing my mind.

Yes, this is the original Easter Egg - it's a yellow Taxi.

Once it's activated the taxi drives by every now and then.

But Sony didn't do it, it's in the original palm OS.

Yeah, I've had this for years on all of my Palms. Interestingly, they updated it for OS5. It used to be low-res, but now it's hi-res. If you see a little Easter egg in your General preferences screen on the lower right corner, above the VG area, then it's active. The taxi will putter across your screen periodically, regardless of what app you happen to be in at the time. Usually, I see it in PalmReader, probably because that's the app that I use for the longest block of time, but I have seen it in Agendus and AvantGo as well.

I recall seeing whole post on Easter Eggs. A search on "Easter Egg" should turn it up.

If you want to see it...
"Simply go to Prefs then choose General. On the lower right corner of the screen (above the calculator) draw a small clockwise circle. Then, switch to the standard Memo pad.
Then hold down the PageDown button while drawing a line from the middle of the graffiti area to the left edge of the case. A taxi cab drives by."

Follow the same proccess to deactivate it.

Yeah, I got it now by reading previous threads. There are several other easter eggs.

Inchworm: Go to prefs, general. Holding the down button (not on keyboard), write # in the gr. area (with the punc. shift). Wait 10 sec.

Developer's backdoor: Go to hotsync app, holding the up button, tap on the upper right corner.

Soft Reset: same as dev. backdoor, but tap on the lower right corner. Just a soft reset, no danger.

These are really cool!
