Clie 665 & a line of dead pixels

I bought a Clie T665-C used. It has a vertical line of dead pixels about an inch to the left of the center of the screen.

Is there anyway that this can be repaired without replacing the screen (or in some CHEAP fashion?)

Is it possible that this is just the result of a loose solder connection to a power pin?

I may have an idea...I'm not familiar with this model, is it a color screen? If not I can not help you, sorry.
