I would assume that the headphone jack on the TH55 is standard and that any mini-jack headphone plug would fit in it. But when I tried to use my iPod headphones in it, the plug won't go in all the way without meeting a lot of resistance, and when the plug is in all the way, it doesn't connect properly and the sound it still comign out the speaker instead of the headphones. I have to pull the jack out a little further before it connects. Same problem with a pair of larger Sony headphones.
I don't like having the jack sticking out so far, and I want an L-type connection, so I think I am going to try one of the other Sony earbuds that were recommended in another post, but just wondered if anyone else had had the same problem? Will other Sony plugs fit securely all the way in?
thanks

I've used my TH55 with iPod, Sennheiser PX200 and Sony E888 headphones, and they've all worked fine. Sounds like your headphone jack might be broken? Have you tried any other headphones in your TH55?

Do you have to push really hard to get the jack all the way in? Maybe I'm just being too scared to impale my spiffy new Clie.

Not really hard, but the jack should definitely go all the way in. Don't be scared, just do it! :)
