Just came across something on techbargains that might be of interest. Buy.com has the Sandisk 6 in 1 card reader for $21.69 after a $10.00 rebate and also includes free shipping.

This reader will read Compact Flash Cards Type I and II, SD Memory Cards, Multimedia Cards, SmartMedia cards and last but not least Memory Sticks.

Here is the link:

(Not sure if the link will work, I'm not real good at attaching links)

You might want to check it out.

Will it allow the Clie to read from a CF card?

Just click on the Search line and type in 'memorystick' and Buy.com brings the following result:

Your search for memorystick did not return any results.

Just went to Buy.com and typed "Sandisk card reader" in the search box and it came up. Looks like the rebate is over but they still had it listed for 25.99 with free shipping which is still a pretty good deal.

Not that knowledgeable of how these things work. The way I understand it is that when you hook up a card reader to your PC it treats it as a removeable hard drive so you can access whatever files are on your card i.e. SD, MMC, CF, MS etc. The advantage of the 6 in 1 reader is when you have different cards you can access them. Right now I have SmartMedia for my digital camera and Memory Stick for my Clie, but I can access them both.

As to whether the Clie can access a CF card I would reply in this way. If you have palm applications on a CF card you could access them and move to your PC with the reader. Then put in your memory stick and transfer your files to the memory stick. Haven't tried so don't know if this would work. Someone with more experience would have to tell you if this would work at all or is even the best way. Good Luck.

I use a 6 in 1 reader also. Paid $19.95(US) from Ecost.com months ago. Works great. I use it to load MP3's(any byte rate) directly on to my memorysticks(any). I think it's the fastest way to load MP3's. I have afew digital cameras with different memorycards. Loads pictures faster than camera hook-up(USB) and saves the camera batteries too.

I have the Dazzle 6 in 1 reader. Unfortunately, I didn't get such a good deal ($49.99 impulse buy at CompUSA) but it was worth it to not buy two readers: 1 for MS on Mac, and for MMC for Samsung digital camera. Also, the reader is nice and small. I've got enough cluttering up my desk!

I definitely recommend a multi-card reader if you need to access more than one type of flash memory, especially on a Mac (Sony doesn't provide a Mac version of MS Import/Export).

I bought the Lexar 6-in-1 reader last week. It works great with my Lexar sticks, and two compact flash cards. It shows up as four individual drives in Windows Explorer. It was $28.84 at Wal-Mart.
