New Sony?

I have heard little tidbits of a new NX (?) or another pda based on the NX form factor coming out in April. i have done a search and have not found that much.

Will someone inform me on when it is coming out, what the price is, and if there are any specs that have been revealed?

I heard it is called the NX76 and it runs 0S6, has 128mb RAM, a hires++ screen (480x480), and dual 400mhz xscale processors. and at $700, it is still cheaper than the NZ90!

Well, are any of the rumours true? Are we in for a new NX series or am I *fairly* safe getting an NX now? Will sony replace it within 2 months or will the replacement be in like 6 months. What do you think?

Hard to say, but it wouldn't surprise me if Sony comes out with another one in the next couple of months. Haven't heard anything concrete though. They came out with the NZ about 4 months after the NX.

Given the rapid pace with which Sony cranks out PDA's I would expect one within the next couple of months that would be the replacement for the NX70. IMHO anyhow. They have a knack of keeping them quiet until just before they are released. And the NZ was not the replacement for the NX. The NX has been out since October that is going on 5 months pretty old by Sony standards for the top end PDA in their line.

I am CONFIDENT that there will be an updated NX fairly soon.  There have been confirmed statements that the current NX will never work with the Stowaway/ClieGear and XT keyboards because of hardware issues, but that the NEXT NX would correct that proble and existing ClieGear KB11's would work.

I would be pretty sure that there will be an update to the NX in the coming months.

I am going to have to disagree with you guys. Sony is cranking out PDA's like there is no tomorrow but I doubt we will see a replacement for the NX until fall/winter time when the first OS6 devices come out.

they removed the nx70 from the main lineup visuals along the bottom (you can still find it in the products line-up)...Im thinking the Nx revision is coming sooner rather than later.

If you can find one for a great deal (overstock.com comes to mind), BUY. The new NX is at least 1 month from announcement, and 2.5 months from release. As fast as Sony has been cranking out PDAs, thay have stuck to a rather strict 6 month schedule for the N-series :)

End of 1st half 2001 - N710C
End of 2nd half 2001 - N760C
End of 1st half 2002 - NR70V
End of 2nd half 2002 - NX70V
End of 1st half 2003 - ???

No need to wait if you can get one for $475 or less.

That's exactly where I was pulling my information from when I stated an estimated date of April for a NX update. I remember someone from Think Outside (I believe) talking about a communication with Sony that they will make the new NX's hotsync connector compatible with the keyboards, and that this model would be coming out around April. Of course I'm not 100% sure if April was the right month, and I can't find the post. But I am sure that Sony was saying a new NX would be coming out this year.

This brings back the memory of Sony Walkman days. Yes, Sony will keep cranking them out.

I wonder how long before we will see yellow SPORT PDA from Sony (bulkier, tougher, water resistant, etc.)

Well, I am like 10 bucks away so it shouldnt be long. Overstock.com! They have it for cheap and it is a factory refurb. I think I'll get it. I dont know. Probably. hope to be seeing alot more of you guys here once I get it!
