Uninstall Programs

Happy to get my TJ37 recently. However, I tried to install some older programs which may conflict with newer ones, so they don't work or even show up. Then, I tried to DELETE them to vacate the space. They do not go. I'm wondering anyone knows how to remove them from the memory.
I'll appreciate your help.
