NZ90 for sale, if no one here wants it, ill sell it on ebay.
There are a few problems with it, but it still WORKS (mostly) To fix it, you need to send it to sony and theyll make it like new and perfect for about 130 bucks. I would fix it myself, but I don't really need a PDA at all, and I just got this as a gift.
Fsome reason you can only see display on the screen if it is flipped down onto keyboard.
Also, when trying to type on keyboard, the little green light flashes as if it were on hold, but its not. I think the machines hold switch may have something to do with this problem.
Everything else works PERFECT. All the buttons on the sides of the clie and on the bottom work fine. Also, the shortcut buttons on the clie keyboard work fine.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I emailed sony and they want me to send it to a repair shop along with $130 to fix it.
I don't feel like doing this because I really don't use it that much anyway, but it would be great for someone who does.
Comes with a lot of accessories: TWO chargers (keep one for a backup), TWO CRADLES (and those cradles are very expensive), and one other cord that I have no idea what it does. I can include pictures if someone is interested in buying.
If you are, please email me at Cooltlg56@aol.com
You can respond to this thread but id rather receive an email.
Thanks,
Tyler

No offense, but I sure as heck would feel suspicious as heck about buying something from a guy who is outright LYING about where he got his Clie...

This guy is not lying IF he was one of the first ones like me to buy this unit. If I were you, I would pay the $130 to get it fixed, THEN sell it on Ebay with a reserve.
I am curious about why you have two cradles!!!!
Interesting/suspicious posts from nz90user:

If you read all this person's posts, it's clear that they are just wasting everyone's time on CS.
If you don't believe me, just do a search on nz90user, or just believe me and don't waste the time.

SONY people are jerks at customer service, make you pay for things that aren't your fault, EVEN their own mistakes.
130 bucks is a lot and im nervous about sending my unit away. Might take weeks before I ever get it back. Maybe theyll be an NZ-100 by the time they send that sucker back.

Sounds as if you got your NZ90 at the five finger discount store. A "friend" gives you the Clie as a gift, and you don't have the receipt? If he's your friend, why don't you ask him for the receipt? No battery? No stylus? A broken screen? No installation CD? You're throwing it away? Your "afraid" to send it to Sony?
I'd be afraid to buy anything from you.

You know I bought my nz on ebay a few weeks http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3087387426
ago and the packaging shows it came from a recovery company" TAP ASSET RECOVERY".
The reason this all bugs me is that I needed A OEM CD for my nz and came here 1st because this is the BEST most informitive forum.
I guess my point is why root on this guy just move the thread to classifeds and move on...

Apart from the fact that it's up to the mods as to what happens to the threads, we're "rooting" on this guy, as you said, because he sounds like a con artist at best, and a thief at worst. If the mods do nothing about it, then it's up to us to expose it.

jes** all i wanted to do was see if i had any buyers. Guess I can get friendly customers on ebay.
If not a con artist, i have pictures of the clie, ask me to take a picture of some part of it, and i can send it.
Didn't know clie sourcers were such jerks

So Clie sourcers are jerks as well as Sony customer services. I guess everyone is a jerk except you.
Go find some poor innocent schnook on ebay to peddle your junk to.
You could take a picture of any NZ90 and say it's yours. Why don't you send him a picture of your cracked screen, and tell him that you have no installation CD, or battery or stylus and see how much you get for it.

Zamanakhan, what do you mean? I'm not giving this away for nothing, its still functional, and if I had the time to send it to Sony and pay for the repair, I could sell it on ebay for hundreds more.

I think not. The guy in the thread just below this one is selling a practically brand new one that works AND a 256MB memory stick for $475. How do you expect to sell yours, which has nothing and sounds worthless, for any amount of money?
Take the time. Sell it on ebay. You won't find a buyer here.

I Have the same exact problem described. As long as the screen is flipped over in the configuration used to cover the keyboard, the clie works normally. Of course the screen does not actually have to be folded over the keyboard, I just have to keep the screen rotated in that position. The keyboard does not work at all, the green light just flashes, although the shortcut keys do work. I have tried hard reset, pulled the little backup battery, etc. No change. If I hard reset, the screen works until you get past the screen where you adjust the stylus with the little "plus signs" or whatever they are.
Help! I don't want to pay the $130 either and I have no qualms taking the damn thing apart. I've got too much invested in compact flash to want to go to a newer clie.

And no more crap about "con artists" from guest users. Or from anyone else for that matter. Cliesource isn't a classified add service IMHO but caveat emptor and let the matter rest

I think this user should be banned the heck outta here.
there's no need to take advantage of members this way.
his lies are so transparent and it shows thru the horrible english.
LIES LIES LIES!
BOOO! Out you go!

I think you all are confusing this guy with another scammer with bad english - not that bad english should equate to scamming. There are several great cliesource members from Asia/Pacific rim who sometimes struggle to write perfect "queen's english" . I'd like to see some 'Merkuns take their chances with Kanji.
So seriously, has anyone had or heard of this problem where the screen only works in one position, i.e. folded over keyboard? I haven't found anything yet on the web. Basically, everything works perfectly as long as you don't rotate the screen. As soon as the screen is moved a few degrees, it turns off and stays off. The keyboard doesn't work - it just makes the green light flash as if on hold. Hard resets don't fix, although the screen turns on and you see the Clie start up. It doesn't go back to a blank screen for a few seconds so the screen is working when rotated, but something is telling the brain that it should turn off.

I think "unregistered" is the same person. What are the chances that all these posts were from different unregistered users? Think about it.
wink, wink.
p.s. does anybody want to buy a used clie?

Why not just let the issue rest. Lets just say hypothetically that he is the same guy plus hes a con artist that stole the item. Who really cares. Personally I am not gonna judge who they are and where they got what. Also, personally I would not buy the clie just for the fact that it has no accessories. So if you want to believe him its on your own perogative. If you get screwed its on your own fault and if you get a good item that you can fix good for you as well. I just don't think its worth arguing over. Also someone made a point about the unregistered user. That I agree with. If you are gonna argue don't do it while unregistered. What a cowardly way to go. Just my 2 cents on the situation.

For what it's worth, I'm my own person - no double identity - what would be the point? If someone wanted to fleece an unwary buyer, eBay is easier - I know, I got taken once. I feel more strongly than ever that cliesource should not be a classified service. A small loss but worth the greater potential loss as a trusted discussion group.
I wouldn't want to buy a clie from one of you guys anyway - you know too much about clies and if you are selling one, I'd be more interested in what you were buying next, not what you were leaving behind.
On a techincal note, the issue reported by me and the other user was fixed by chance when I took the back off my clie, disconnected the two conncectors, then reconnected. Don't know how/why, don't care but it works again! I sent a PM to him/her on what I did and how - hopefully it helps.
OK, I've milked this thread for enough posts....no more. PM me if anyone is interested in what I did to "repair" my clie.
