I'd like to know if anyone else has successfully synced using bluetooth and isync, without markspace software.

Was planning to purchase Missing Sync, but if the bluetooth works, then might just hold out for a bluetooth memory stick instead.

Or, is there anyone who's USB-synced without Missing Sync?

I think that pretty much depends on which clie you're talking about. But if you're just looking for a generic answer, then: Yes.

Snara, I'm syncing my ux50 with bluetooth without missing sync and everything works fine. I run osx panther 10.3.3 on a powerbook g4 17".

Markspace Missing Sync has no bearing on Bluetooth HotSync. The prime purpose of the software is to provide USB drivers for CLies that aren't naturally supported by Palm Desktop (very few), and to add other value added things like iPhoto and iTunes support, which with Bluetooth and WiFi are of very little value.

I hotsync my UX50 and PowerBook G4 using bluetooth just fine (kinda slow, but no wire involved :) ).

I left out what I probably consider to be the best feature of Missing Sync, which is Mac compatibility with MSImport!

I have a CLIE TJ-35. With the USB HotSync Cable I could not sync with my Mac G4 500 Desktop Mac OS X 10.3.3. I had to install Missing Sync first. I do not have a memory stick "yet" but I am looking forward to the MP3/iTunes and iPhoto sync abilities of missing sync.

I have OS 10.2.8 and I am syncing an NX60 with iSync just fine without missing sync, with USB (MiniSync retractable plug).

I also sync with Windows 2000 at work (which is where my cradle is). No problems with dublicates or anything.

In case anyone still uses these two: and S320 and OS 10.1.5 get along just fine.

Also plays nice with win98.

i know, i know.

here is a horror story for all of you
ok
i have a power book running 10.3its a 12"
so i get my clie and i hook it up w/o mark space
so its working fine
and then i decide to get mac boot (totally unrelated)
and i need to reinstall osx
so i did
and i tried to reinstall Palm Desktop 4.1 and for some odd reason
it doesn't h ave a certain file (CRAP, also this happened for every time i tried downloading) so i finally coax my dad into buying mark space missing sync clie and first, he tries it on my mom's windows laptop, BBBIIIIGGGG mistake so we mare about to purchase it (Credit card in in box) and when we click enter, we get the good ol' 404 error
so then he tries it on his Mac and everything works fine but, when i go to my mail, HE PURCHASED 2!!!! so it DID work on the laptop
and even when in install the software, still doesn't work
so i call and this is what i get
Palm: "Call apple"
Apple: "call palm"
Sony: "Call palm"
mark space: didn't call

so i am in my room crying when
i get the motivation to go and get the software CD that came with my moms ZIRE 71!
and guess what?
IT GOD DAMNED WORKED
WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO
not.

Wow,

Please calm down.

I just got a 15.2" Powerbook yesterday, downloaded Palmdesktop from PalmOne, Installed iSync and the Palm conduits for it, installed Pocket Quicken. No Markspace for me, and everything works great with my NX-60 and Boxwave Sync/Charge cable.

The MarkSpace Missing Sync was needed for my Sony Clie. It must be some sort of Sony, Apple, Missing Sync extortion thing. My old Plam IIIc worked without any hitches. I use Palm Desktop 4.1 for Apple. The missing sync software allows full intergration of the MS Memory Stick. My Palm has compatiblity with iTunes and iPhoto. My Clie shows up as a portable drive on my Mac OS X desk top. I was initaly pissed about have to purchase missing sync but now I don't know how I would have lived without it.
