Just out of curiosity, any stories about lost UX50s? I ask because I lost mine today. I put it down and forgot about it, I guess. But someone found it, emailed me (my name and email are on the back) and 4 hours later, here I am.

mine is permanently glued to my left hand and as a second measure, glued a string from the ux50 to my eyeball. If for some reason my hands became severed without me knowing, the yank to my eyeball would alert me. Hurts a little but I know I won't lose it. :D

on a serious note, mine is too new for me to take my eyes off it. :) congrats indeed!, You are very lucky that a nice person found it and gave it back. someone else, you would find your clie on ebay already.

I left my HP1910 somewhere once and someone found it and returned it. I couldn't have been happier. I bought lunch for the three employees of the business that found it and figured out how to return it.

I'd like to say that I wouldn't do that with the UX because it's just too valuable, but one never knows...

Congrats on getting it back!

My son lost his UX-50 in the men's room at work today. Luckily, the person that found it immediately turned it in to the security guard at the front door.

As it turns out, the guy who found it works in the same group I do ( yes, I work in the same place as my wife and son ) and thought it might have been mine, but I wasn't at my desk when he first found it, so he turned it in.

So, let that be a lesson for you. If you carry your UX-50 in the belt pouch, make sure it's still there when you leave the stall. :D

I wear Mobile Docker pants at work and carry my UX-50 in the inner zippered pocket. It ain't going no where when I go potty.

Bye.

Geez. Around here, if someone found a $500 device, it would be ebayed SO quick.

I left mine once in the men's room, but was quick enough to dash back in to get it back.

I think it would be extremely lucky for someone to return your lost UX50 to you. I must say I'm not sure if I can withstand the temptation.

To be burnt in hell!

How come I am a guest!!!

Anyway, Durham, interested to know how did you get the UX back? Did you go to meet the nice guy? If so, did you do anything to show your gratitude towards his kindness?

Mines always in my Belt case. When it goes out of BT range my phone lets me know. Also, when you turn it on it autmaticly shows my owner info.

Hey Fez, interested to know how you set your cell phone to tell you your UX is out of range?

You were in luck there! Wow, lost your UX40 & then retrieved it back. I can't imagine myself loosing my UX50, I don't think there'd be anybody so kind to return the thing to me.

You'd be surprised how friendly a place this is...there was a national poll done a few months back and we (NYC) actually came out near the top. NY gets a undeserved bad rap. :) I've been/lived all over the US, and NY'ers are actually some of the most friendly/helpful bunch out there!

I just have Bluetooth on most of the time, (It takes about 5% battery every half hour) and when the device my phone is paired with goes out of range it starts to beep.

Hey Fez,

Firstly, BT on UX can remain on when the device is off?

Secondly, I suppose the function is kind of built into your cell phone then. In that case, share with us what model is it?

I can believe, but his location is very much different then NYC. I lived many different locations in the usamyself. But NC is a nice place.

Wow, I can't believe there are people out there who would return a UX if they found it. Glad to hear that my current perspective on the world may be inaccurate. I have never lost my UX. I can't think of a more surefire way to make me cry!

I'm glad you got your UX back. I always have it with me because this is indeed, my peripheral brain!
