Ok, I was curious so I thought I would ask...
Is there any program out there that allows a wireless (TH55) PDA to share it's files, either internal or on external media, such that a Windows PC can attach to it like a file share.
If not, what about an HTTP server that runs on the TH55 that can share files?
Maybe a silly question, but hey, sometimes you just want it all!

I am able to access my TH55 using Data Import.

I should have specified I meant using a wireless connection.

HTPPd is a cool app. Unfornately the one I've found doesn't work
well with my TH55. It is in the thread.
I am waiting for a diff HTPP daemon (server) that is Wi-FI aware.
I will definitely dive-in in PALM OS programming if I have $ and Time.

I would pay for such an app if it was compatible with my OS5 TG50 which I would think it would be if it worked on the TH55

Let's push this one. I'm also still searching for an app to not only share ma TH55's files, but mainly to give write access for uploading MP3s etc to the MS from the PC via Wifi. Isn't there an FTP server yet? Nor SMB? And I'm not talking about clients here. (downloading MP3s from my Windows PC works well using smbmate)

There _is_ a FTP server for PalmOS :
http://www.freewarepalm.com/communication/palmftpserver.shtml
Now, if you could test it for us and tell us if you can upload files easily to the Palm, that'd be nice ;-)

The developer javispedro wrote palmftpserver, and my understanding on this thread
http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=105398&highlight=palmftpserver
Is that he is updating this app.
It works OK'ish on my lifedrive and am sure it can only get better...

Okay, those two are the same. Palm FTPServer. Version 0.1.
Installed, hotsync'ed, started the program "FTPServer". Screen shows up with a "Start" and a "Stop" button. First went to Preferences. Port 21, OK. Read only - nah, unchecked that one. Force IP address? default was unchecked, so I left it.
Pressed Start.
Screen shows up "Opening NetLib" and then "Listening on port 21".
Step I:
Started SmartFTP, entered IP address, anonymous login. WORKS!
Now the root folder consists of 3 folders, named RAM, ROM and MS. Opened MS. Navigated to MSAUDIO directory. Downloaded one MP3 file to PC. Average speed: 157 KB/s!! (Power Save of TH55's settings turned off). Opened MP3 file. Works (PC plays music).
Step II: Upload!
First delete some MP3 files from MS. 13 files in 5 seconds. Selected 12 MP3 files from PC, 92.0 MB. Drag-and-dropped to SmartFTP window. Uploading.. got a 31.5 KB/s average....
OK now I won't wait until those 92 MB are on the Stick. But it works nicely. You just have to deactivate auto-off, the program doesn't do it automatically. So, even when active, the device turns off after some time. After turning it back on in that case, you have to restart the app to be able to successfully open the port again. Plus it doesn't automatically connect to the network. So i connected using CLIE NetMon.
First file upload is finished! So let's start the Audioplayer app! OK, audioplayer hasn't yet realized that changes to the MS have been made. BTW, is there any other possibility reloading the MS than actually ejecting it and pushing it back in?
Anyways, after reinserting my MS and again almost losing that dumb screw which I don't get fixed (the one under the MS hood), the file APPEARS in the list and now I remember, yes, it's a file not being supported by the Sony engine.
However. Started TCPMP. Opened file. Works. Perfectly. Nice app. Worth an update, I think.
I hope this wasn't too detailed and my english not too bad ;)
Cheers,
Charles

YeLLo,
Your experience of install / use of this app, corresponds to my own, I think it has a lot of promise, I think I am right in saying that in the link I mentioned above the developer said he was going to update it and possibly add HTTP server (web server) stuff..... and extra security features *WOW* although I do not personally need a web server on my Lifedrive :)
btw, your English is very good

...OK, audioplayer hasn't yet realized that changes to the MS have been made. BTW, is there any other possibility reloading the MS than actually ejecting it and pushing it back in?...In AudioPlayer, do Menu-Options-Transfer and then Exit.
It will reload the list.
