Hi,
Can't seem to sync up MemoPad anymore. Under 'custom' on Hotsync manager its not listed as a conduit. Help file says how to create a new file link, but when I try that, the only option available is Address Book. In my Palm Desktop I have Memos enterd. Just can't get them to my NX70V. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, help was offered previously on a WiFi problem I had, and I want to thank all of you who contribute your time to us 'newbies' learning these things. This is a great forum with great forumees (? if that is a word :) )

It sounds like you've lost the Memopad conduit.
If you're under Windoze, do one of the following:
a)
- open a DOS command shell, and go to the folder where your PalmDesktop is installed (usually C:/Program Files/Sony Handheld/
- type the following: hotsync.exe -r. This should reset your conduits.
if it doesn't work, do:
b)
- reinstall Palm Desktop.
Good luck ;)

Of course reinstalling requires uninstalling the desktop. Make a backup copy of the handheld folder just in case, but it should preserve your data. Now is a good time to upgrade to Palm desktop version 4.1 from v4.01.

Nope you don't need to uninstall the desktop :D
Just re-install it over the old one ... it works :)
If you want to upgrade to version 4.1 make sure you install first the version that came with your Clie in order to have all the Sony drivers installed properly.
Then you can download 4.1 and just install it over 4.01.

I had the same problem after installing a freeware application that reclassifies memos into different categories. I had to reinstall the desktop (without unistalling) and allwas ok afterwards.

Maybe I should have been a little clearer, the program will remove before it installs the new version. It did this on 4 Windows XP machines, but it took all of only a few minutes to do on each.
Re-running the new version, now offers, to remove, modify, or repair.

Marie, what is the advantage of using 4.1 instead of the default 4.01 except the urge to have the latest? Michel

I had 4.1 with my previous Palm so I wanted to keep this version.

One change is the ability to somewhat customize Icons now, more themes to choose from, and additional Palm Desktop tools.
