That sounds like a great plan!!

Too bad AT&T still lives in the dark ages when it comes to data plans (1 MB for 7.99, 4 MB for 12.99, 8 MB for 19.99). Hopefully, when the Cingular/AT&T merger goes through, us AT&T GSM customers can get on that plan too.

OMG, can't believe this!!! Always been stressed to go over my limit... I'm actually gonna save money now! I was paying $2.99 for Text & $2.99 for SMS and $14.99 for internet... lol This is gonna save me a buck a month!!! Thx Dannn

Pity that the primary bluetooth phone offered by Cingular when I last upgraded, August, was the Cingular-crippled Siemens S56. It's a fine web-enabled phone, and a fine phone, but pretty much completely incompatible with the UX50 except for SMS.

That sucks... If you have a cool Cingular guy you might be able to get them to give you a T616 to replace your Siemens, since it's broken *wink*wink*...

Although the S56 is a PAIN to configure, I think you can get it to work...
Trial this software (available at Handango & Palmgear/Cliesource)
http://www.novamedia.de/pages_e/e_mhs_palm.html
If it works, your in business...

Also, I have found that when pairing anything with the S56,
1) Make sure no other Bluetooth devices are active nearby
2) After pairing each device, switch OFF discovery
3) Keep discovery OFF on S56 always

Good luck, hope this works for you...I feel your pain
:D

That's odd, the S56 worked right off the bat with my TG50 (I just use the default SMS app). I guess something changed with the Clie's...

Hobbit, I'll take a look at the software, but pairing hasn't been the problem. The changes to the AT commands are the problem. Believe me, I've debugged it at that level - those are even why Siemens own software doesn't work with the S56.

Hobbit, that's a piece of.... The problem is, it won't LET me demo it. I've never heard of it before, never seen it before, and yet it thinks the trial license has expired.

Sorry I took so long to reply...
I don't remember which site I downloaded the trial version, but there IS one that will work for you.
I trialed and then registered the software, the program puts a Wizard on your PDA, you follow all the steps and your working.

When on the road, I choose "Cingular GPRS" from
Netfront -->Options-->Preferences-->Service
and I connect via Bluetooth.

Also, to register, I had to use Novamedia's German website (strange).
I'll look for my original download if you need I could send it to you.
