I have a T615C and every time I try to watch a movie with Gmovie, the sound does not work. Is this a feature not available to the 615C?
I tried changing the sound settings in Gmovie but that did not help. Sounds work fine in all my other apps.

Thanks,

David

The only way to get sound on a T615 using GMovie is if you have the Sony MP3 adapter. I had a T615 and just upgraded to a T665 and didn't find the adapter a worthwhile purchase IMO as many have stated, its rather cumbersome. I believe there are a few tricks you can do using the Kinoma movie player/producer to get some sound from the T615, however you are still going to be limited to its built in speaker which isn't going to get you much output.

I have a T-625 (uk version of the 615) with an Audio Adapter. This allows me to play mp3s & to get stereo sound with Kinoma encoded films.... you can squeeze 45 minutes with stereo sound @ 240x320 resolution into just over 100mb - so it fits nicey onto one of my 128mb sticks...

i would recommend - if you don't mind paying for it...

I had a T615C. It would play Kinoma movie sounds if the Kinoma movie was encoded for Sony sound. Most are, so that isn't a huge problem. However, the sound from the speaker is very faint in movies. You couldn't hear it in a moderate background environment. I was quite disappointed in that, especially given the outstanding alarm volume and quality.

If you really want to listen to sound in movies on a T615C, I'd say you need the Audio Adapter. At the price, though, you'd better want to do it alot. :(

OTOH, although I never bought the Audio Adapter for my T615C, the sound through the headset on my T665C is excellent. I was very pleasantly surprised by its high quality in MP3 and movie play. Other here can speak better to the quality out of the Audio Adapter itself.

gMovie Player 2.0.x supports sound with most Sony CLIÉs, however, the new synthesizer sound chips in the T-series and N-series are not supported. To listen to high quality sound from the Sony CLIÉ T-series and N-series, you will need to purchase the Sony Audio Adapter.

Note: Through the clever efforts of some gMovie customers, there is a work around that will enable some gMovie sound through the synthesizer sound chip. Please, note that the sound is of a poor quality and that Generic Media does not endorse nor support this work around. The work around requires that you download and install MiniMusic NotePad 1.1. The steps to enable gMovie sound on a Sony CLIE T-series device are as follows:

# Download and install the demo version of NotePad 1.1
# On the Sony CLIE, go to Prefs and turn System Sound to "OFF". MiniMusic does not work with System Sounds on.
# Open MiniMusic NotePad 1.1 and play a song or note.
# Open gMovie Player and play a movie file that has audio. You should now hear sound.

At this point you can turn your System Sounds back on if you prefer. You should now be able to hear sound from gMovie Player on a Sony CLIE T-series or N-series device.
