View Full Version : NZ Case that fits!
Hey Davy19, here's the Targus site. www.targus.com/cases_pda.asp Go to PDA cases, then scroll to page 2 and look for the IpaQ Expanding Nylon Case. It has a belt loop you will love it.

Also, check out the RhinoSkin Clippak Synthetic PDA Case (Large) Stock # 00294 $19.95
It fits very well, has extra room for spare memory sticks, battery... and has a removable steel clip for your belt as well. Also, the NZ90 slips in and out VERY easily but seats securly using a velcro flap closure.

It's tight but I am happy enough with the fit in a Grinder Gear Basecamp (http://www.grindergear.com/basecamp.html).

Try Office Max or Office Depot, if it's not there you will probaly have to order it online. It slides in and out perfect. Not too loose where you will drop it but not to tight to where you might loose the stylus.

Hey Ditch, I tried logging on rhinoskin.com and it's not up. Do you have another way I can take a look at this case?

Sorry Magi NX for not including one before!
Try this for starters:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00007FH9A/ref=e_de_a_smp/103-2165571-4219068?v=glance&s=electronics&vi=pictures&img=14#more-pictures
I tried to go to the Saunders-usa web site (RhinoSkin), but it appears their site is having some difficluties today.
Also, if you are interested, here's a link for the same product for only $8.95 plus shipping that I found while seeking this out:
http://www.pcstop.com/product_detail.asp?ProdID=708998
Hope these help!
Ditch
Hey Ditch, I like It! Are you sure it can hold the NZ? Doe's it come in any other colors like Black. Is the clip sturdy? I tried to order it from amazon but they said the product is discontinued.

Well Maji, the only one I've actually seen was at a Micro Center in Fairfax, VA and that was the "Small" model and except for the length, it seemed pretty sweet. Looking at the dimensions for the Large model, should be a perfect fit!
As for the color, I think Black is it. It seems made of Codura Nylon and unfortunately Micro Center didn't even show them stocking the Large model.
I'm going to order one myself tomorrow. If you find a better deal on one, let me know.
Ditch
Hey Ditch and Davy, rhinoskin.com is back up. The "LARGE" Synthetic Flip Case #00294 will fit nice, check the measurements. I wonder how long it takes for shipping?

The Pygmy Pouch is a pretty good fit: http://www.pygmypouch.com/ . Perfect in terms of height, good for thickness, and just a bit more than you need in terms of width. It has an inner and outer pockets for Mem Stix, WiFi card and etc. Water resistant and a bit of padding... $19.95.
pdagal, doe's that case have a belt clip?

E.B also make a case that should fit the NZ according to the dimensions. It's called the copilot-40. Take a look. www.ebcases.com. Also Innopocket e-mailed me and said they are in the works of making a hard metal case for the ZN also.
Mr. Thompson
02-24-2003, 10:39 PM
Cool, an Innopocket for my brick. My NX with an Innopocket is NZ sized. Nonetheless, I look forward to the Innopocket, even if it probably won't fit in my Basecamp anymore. FWIW, an Innopocket in a padded case equals an almost bulletproof solution for the hard core abuser. :D

ok just got the pygmy case.
It is not bad, it fits perfectly.
Two things I dont like the clip, beucase you cant put it on or take it off, always has to be on, well you can take it off but it is a real pain, so I just ripped it off permanently...lol
second is the outside of the case feels funny, kind of like sticky leather, cant describe just feels funny
otherwise then that it fits perfectly.
probalem is once you put a case on the NZ forget about fitting it in your pants now, have to use belt or put it in backpack.
I think what I will do is if I know I am going to put it in my backpack or something like that I will put it in the case, otherwise will still carry nz without a case in my pants until better cases come out specifically for it.

So I take it that the belt clip is very sturdy? I wouldn't have to worry about loosing my NZ? Is it Black?

The belt clip is has a Lifetime Guarantee from www.data-nation.com where I bought my Pygmy Pouch. I like that cause I am always breaking belt clips when I sit down and it catches on something. It's a stiff & sturdy clip that attaches inside the pouch with a button clasp, but it's protected on the inside by a layer of like ballistic nylon [I guess] to prevent it from touching your PDA. One thing is for sure, once you attach it to your belt it ain't comin' off!

To all the pgmy pouch owners-With the NZ in the pouch, is there room to put much else in there? Wi-Fi card, MS, Pen/Stylus, laptop?

I bought the roadwired play through case:
http://www.roadwired.com/store/Product.cfm?categoryid=2&Productid=54
It is OK, not great at all. You have to do the velcro thing to make it work.
I have broken too many pda screens by dropping them on the corners and having the screen crack that I think a play through is important.
What I am wondering though, is that since the NZ90 is in a magnesium case, would that protect it more? If that were the case, then it just might be ok to carry it in my pocket.
The problem I am having with all the cases is that it is too easy to inadvertently switch on the NZ90. This has happened in this roadwired one, and is a real issue in a case like the pygmy - where you drop it in and pull it out. Just asking to hit that little on/off switch if you forget to do the hold thing.
comments?

I got the pygmy case a few days ago, originaly wanting to have something while I searched for the perfict case, but now I think that I will stay with the pygmy. I like the look, the belt clip is very sturdy, and you can use the headphones while it is in it's case. I can just slip it on my jeans pocket (i do not wear a belt and the pocket is so much more convient) and go through the day with no worries.

Grinder Gear's Basecamp comes with the belt clip.
Again, it's a tight fit for the NZ. I find the only problem is it occasionally opens the lens cover.

Anone know anything about the Sony case for the NZ90? I can get a 25% discount on it right now, but can't tell much about it.
Nice case but I think it may be too small. I can't wait until they make one exactly for the NZ. I love their belt clip, it's swivels and releases! The quality of the leather is incredible! If you guys go to the case for the NX, you will see that vaja cases will let you swivel the screen without having to remove it from it case.

Hey, I agree! A friend of mine leaned against a wall and damaged his screen on his NZ. You talking about a depressed man. It costed him $175.00 to get it fixed at Sony.:(

Hey Maji,
Good you found it, I tried a mates case that has a belt clip and the problem is it hangs to heavy and tear-off possibilities are higher. Dont remember what make it was.
I think the cases by Xigma are also good, try those
