THE POLL: Garmin iQue 3600 VS Clie NX/NZ
A few of us have read about the upcoming Garmin iQue 3600 (if not read it here at http://www.pencomputing.com/

One has a 150MHZ processor..the other 200MHZ
one Has a built in Digital Camera..one a built in GPS system
one uses Memory Stick Media the other SD media
one has 16MB Onboard ram..the other 32MB
Both have hi-quality Audio and virtual Graffiti hi-res screens.

its a close call...let the voting begin

(Comments..even repeated ones from the other post are welcomed...I myself would just more like to see how you all vote.)

note: before the database got deleted, most of us have done our groans about the upcoming "gray brick", the NZ and would choose the NX over it anyday. But I thought id put in simply because of the upgrades to some of its hardware and is technically the most advanced Clie there is right now.

I voted for the Garmin, as that's what I would get if I didn't already have a PalmOS5 PDA (An NX60). Since I already have an NX60, I would vote neither, and wait for something like the Garmin without the GPS, but I didn't think that voting that would capture the spirit of the Poll, since it seems to imply that you don't have anything comparable to what's on the list (maybe add an option for "Already have the one I want.").

I'd rather have the GPS than the camera built in, but neither one really causes me to want to part with $500-800 just yet. I'm waitining to see what comes next... these all feel like interim models before the REAL stuff gets released.

I'm waiting to find out more specifics on the iQue (Garmin) PDA. First PDA that has everything I want and nothing I don't for less than the iQue is what I buy (unless there's solid rumors of something much better coming along real soon), and if nothing does, I'll replace my NX with an iQue in June (for my birthday) or in December (for christmas).

If Garmin used the recently announced official PalmOS feature set for grafitti area minimization, the Sound Stream feature set, and has a speaker louder than my NX, I am so there unless someone does it better buy the time I'm in position to upgrade again.

I am planning on replacing my Clie T415 in late August (my birthday) for a new Palm OS PDA. What I want is a handheld just like the Garmin iQue3600 without the GPS. GPS is a neat feature and can be useful, but considering I am not even old enough to drive a car it is useless to me. So what I want is for Palm to come out with a unit like the Garmin without the GPS because then it will have an SD slot and not Sony's MemoryStick which is worse in every way over the SD.

I don't have the money to buy anything, but if I did, I would have to seriously consider the IQue. It's got the one primary thing I'm waiting for SONY to do: a HiRes+ screen on a non-clamshell design.

If SONY would finally produce something like that, I would have a very hard time not buying a new Clié regardless of impoverished status.
