I just recived the following email from mapopolis:

Hi,
Do you have any users that would be able to test the new Sony Clie sound - people who have Palm OS 5 devices but not UX50 (which already supports standard sound)? If so, please have them download v. 1.34 (posted now) and make sure that they do not have Pspeak on the device. Pspeak does not support the new Sony sound yet.
Thanks,
Matt

You can download it here (http://64.208.105.215/PalmNavBeta.zip)!
I just tested it and everything works great so far. The only thing that might be a bug is that the voice prompts seem to cut off about a tenth of a second early. I will email them to find out if that is supposed to happen.

I am using Mapopolis Navigator 5.19 on my Sony Clie NX80V. The voice feature works fine ... when you use the "Navigate" feature, it tells you which way to turn, but you have to tap on the screen (arrows).
Now, if I can only find a compactflash GPS receiver that will work with the Sony Clie NX80V. I would be a happy camper! Anyone have a list of compatible CF GPS receivers?

My only complaint with the new voice prompts is that the end of each prompt seems to get cut off or maybe just end rather abruptly.

Pelaca's GPS driver works with the BC-307 but Mapopolis doesn't support it yet.

Thanks for the update. I use my old Garmin 38 with Mapopolis for navigation purposes and Mapopolis works fine for that. Anyways, with the file meir87 linked to, the voice prompts sound VERY clear and understandable.

I got nothing but garbled jibberish when I tried to use it. Did I do something wrong?

Did you take off any previous version? Sorry I forgot to mention that in my post.

When I downloaded Mapopolis, I also got a .pdb file (MapopolisWords); which I attempted to delete and overwrite with the file you suggested. That's when I got the garbled message.

meir87,
Can you ask Mapopolis to support Pelaca's CF GPS Driver (Palm's "new serial manager")

How do I find the Words file? When I look, all I see in the Mapopolis file. I can't even find my individual maps.
The sound I get when I try to get directions is like a flock of pissed-off owls attacking my Clie. SCREEEEEEEEEECH!!!

I don't have any special connections with them. I just informed them about CliePet's api and they notified me when they made use of it. If you want to request something, thisn is the email I used info@mapopolis.com
