Hi,
I have trouble directly installing and accessing ebooks on the memory stick. Do I have to install the ebooks on the handheld instead of the memory stick? Also, can I set enews download directly to memory stick?

Thanks,
Jessie

I was wondering this myself....

Right now I am using Palmreader Pro and it seems it can only access Ebooks if they are located in the main memory. Basically what I've been doing is storing my Ebooks onto the memory stick in their own "Ebook" directory and simply copying them back and forth into the main memory depending on what I am reading at the time. You can use either McFile or Filez to do this as they work just like Windows Explorer for your Palm. I personally prefer McFile myself but Filez is very good too and its price is free, McFile is shareware.

You can find McFile here:

And Filez here:

What reader are you using?

Actually the part I was wondering about was if anyone could recommend a Ebook reader that will directly open Ebooks located on the card, instead of using the above explained method of copying.

Sorry forgot to add that....

JessieLee, we need to know what ebook reader you are trying to use - different programs, different procedures. Also, where did you get the ebooks from? Sorry, I don't use "enews", so I can't help you there...

Wompratz, PalmReader can find it's books in any of the following directories on the card:
- /PALM/books <---- this is the one I use
- /PALM/programs/msfiles
- /PALM/Launcher

I use Isilo and I have all the documents on memory stick. I read the ebooks directly off the stick, don't move them to ram.

Isilo will process web pages (or entire sites) and load them directly into its own Isilo memory stick directory. and it will read standard pdb doc files (which are what my ebooks are) and Isilo formatted doc files.

For ebooks, I just use MSImport and drag and drop the ebook files into the /PALM/programs/ISilo directory on the stick. Or you could sync them to the stick, then move them manually into the correct directory.

It's been a while since I loaded it but I THINK it will also scan other directories on the stick too.

If you close a book out, it will remember where you were and reopen it at that place the next time you open it. I really like Isilo.

Narnia - EXCELLENT! So I guess when I take the "E" off my Ebooks directory I'm set to go then! Thanks for the tip! :)

woompratz, you helped me, so now maybe I can help you.

I use Isilo, Acrobat reader for palm and palm reader pro. All of my ebook files are in the /palm/launcher file on my memory stick. Haven't had any problems accessing them. BTW, thanks for the reply to my gmovie sound question.

David:)

Dave - I have yet to try Isilo however I'm the type that tries to keep what I want to do down to one program if possible and not have too many apps that would just be redundant (Then again, now looking at my Games tab I guess I'm talking out of my ) )) :D) . With that said, I tend to stick with .pdb or (doc) format Ebooks which when you use the free Dropbook program to convert Ebooks with into such format tends to work out pretty as far as I can tell. In any case I followed the tip mentioned above and this is now working out great! I tried out Acrobat on my 615 back when and found it to be a bit slow but I think I may give it a whirl now on the 665 and see what happens since its 2x the CPU speed.

Thanks for your comments and glad I could attempt to help with your Gmovie inquiry :)

Acrobat Reader, DeepReader, PalmReader Pro & Plucker ALL can read books from the MS. As has been mentioned though, some are picky about where you put them.
