Microsoft Video Quicktime Player format problem

I'm able to successfully convert WinTV capture video using Image Converter into a format that plays on the NX80, but I've got a couple of videos from elsewhere, properties list as, 'type of file' Microsoft Video 'Description' Quicktime Player, that I am unable to convert using Image Converter. Can anyone help with an idiots guide as to how I might get these to play on the Clie, or is it not possible?

What is the file extension?

I have never heard of that type of video. Sounds like Media Player is trying to take over MOV, which is weird since it wont play QT videos.
