My TJ35 glass digitzer screen is cracked. The LCD is still working perfectly.

Sony says the digitizer screen has been discontinued and is unavailable. I am chocked... How does Sony expect to repair TJ35's and 25's that are still under their 1 year warranty?? How can a unit that is less than 6 months old not have replacements parts available by the manufacture/service center?

Does anyone know where I can buy a LCD Block Panel/digitizer screen for the TJ35?

Thanks in advance.

Complain to sony, don't let them make you do the dirty work.

And by that I mean continue to complain, until they relent.

Get back onto them. I rang Hotpoint spares to be told that the hob I had bought 2 weeks before did not exist (I work in a builders merchant)

It took 3 phone calls and a lot of hassle before I got the part number, a fax of the exploded view and the price

Their Tech Assistance line (1-866-557-7669) said to call their World Patrs Center (1-800-488-7669). World parts said, "sorry, we only sell accessories, not internal parts." "We'll have someone call you back so you don't get the run-around."

Got a call back about an hour later.

The part I need is called the "LCD Block Assembly".
The part number is: "A6071452B".

"Sorry, we don't sell internal parts to anyone. If you send us the PDA, Sony will fix it for $175.00. But we will not sell replacement parts for non-sony people to do the repair. You must pay a Sony repair person. We will not release the part to anyone outside Sony."

So there you go. Consider it a lesson learned. This Techie will never buy Sony again.

At least you are half way there, all you need now is to find a tame sony repair agent who is prepared to sell you the part.
